We enjoyed our stay and would stay here if we come back to the area.We enjoyed watching the deer in the front yard and the amazing stars at night. The property is close to great flyfishing for cutthroat trout on the beautifil St. Joe river. The scenery is amazing as you go towards Avery and beyond. If you go that way stop at the fly shop and enjoy a sandwich and icecream sitting on the deck overlooking the river. The host was excellent and was responsive when we asked questions. If you want a quiet get away, this location is recommended.
We just spent 3 nights at this lovely cabin. It was very clean and has all the comforts of home. It even had an air conditioner in the main living area to keep things cool during St. Marie’s warm summers. We will be back!
We wanted a place to stay while we fished the St Joe. The location is secluded and quiet and were even had deers visit the property during our stay.
The host was very communicative and available and made everything easy.
Just don’t use Waze to get there! Apple Maps gives a better driving experience due to its recommended drive path. 🙂
We stayed here for a week and it was amazing the host was very friendly and kind. They made the check in/out process so easy. House was very cozy you won’t get cold in the winter. 10/10 recommend for a quiet get away, hunting trip, or day at the river.
This cabin was awesome! Loved our stay there! Would highly recommend!

St. Joe fishing trip
Host was so quick to respond to questions. House was situated in a quiet spot with lots of yard. We had a wonderful time fishing and then coming back to the house to enjoy the peaceful afternoon on the large covered porch.

Beautiful mountain retreat
We stayed here for Christmas and had a wonderful time. The cabin was perfect for our needs. We live in a tiny house and the kitchen was bigger than ours at home so we were able to comfortably cook a nice Christmas dinner. Highly recommended
Overall a wonderful experience unfortunately marred by the painful experience of seeing so much USFS as well as private and cooperate land.
After having spent the summers of 1957-1961 working on the St. Joe National Forest (renamed the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, except for District 5, Potlatch that was absorbed by the Cleaarwater National Forest.
It was nice, but the struggle was the pits and pans where old and scratched up. Everything sticked Or burnt even with non stick spray. The master room needs a queen instead of a full size bed but it was comfy mattress.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Fly fishing trip
Pros
- Great location
- Clean
- Locals at the fly shop in Avery are some of the best people.
- House was stocked with the necessities.
Cons
- This will be a very real concern for most. There are multiple cameras on the property where you would expect privacy. We also noticed the owners driving by frequently, which made the experience a little awkward.
-After arriving, we realized the location was way over priced.
- The pictures of the property are out of date. The owner acknowledged that this has been the case since 2020, so seems dishonest to me to not change them.
-The property is not on the river nor can you access it by walking, because of private land.
- They require you to pack out your garbage to a location that's about five miles away.
Excellent place for our hunting vacation. Very nice

Paradise!
This house is a PARADISE!
And I feel I’m already ready for other getaway 😅👍!
The house is super comfortable and clean, it is located in a very quiet place. In the morning you wake up with the noise of the birds, and at night it is super quiet. My family loved the backyard space, nature all around, and we love the privacy!
Owners were always in touch, if we had any questions. No complains about it!
Definitely we will be back!
Thank you again!
We had an amazing time using the house as home base for a couple days. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Wifi was excellent and Shannon was a wonderful host and communication was perfect.
