"An incredible stay in Syros, made all the more memorable due to Nicolas and his hosting skills. An absolutely stunning palazzo, extremely clean with so much attention to detail, your eye is constantly captivated! I stayed in the Demetrius Vikelas room (more like a suite) which was impeccably clean with the most stunning of views overlooking the city. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious with lots of locally sourced food. Nicolas has gone out of his way to assist me with dinner reservations during this busy period, details of events with specific timings, making suggestions to enhance my trip, even offering to take me to St George's Church up on the hill; one really could not ask for more! If you travel to Syros, Palazzo Santa Maria is a MUST! I would recommend this hotel to any traveller and only wish my stay was longer! "

"I truly wish I could have stayed longer in Syros and at Villa Selena. Giannis and Vasiliki were wonderful hosts. I had a mix-up with my taxi from the port and they did a great job arranging new transportation for me. When I arrived, Vasiliki warmly greeted me and was so helpful with my luggage (no small feat) and with recommendations for places to dine around the island. The hotel is an old mansion and it is stunning. There are several communal indoor and outdoor spaces where you can people watch, rest, or read. The villa is perfectly located with a short walk to Asteria Beach as well as to the port. My room was small but perfectly appointed. The closet space and clear storage stands helped me keep organized and ensured that I didn't leave anything behind. I loved the window in my room. It looked out towards Ermoupoli and the light was absolutely stunning. Did I mention breakfast? The Villa hosts a lovely and filling breakfast buffet with everything you need to start your day, as well as made-to-order options. It's served on one of the outdoor terraces, which was right near my room. I truly hope to return to Villa Selena on my next stay in Syros!"

"This place is a bit wonky--family-owned and operated, old-fashioned facility. Do you like having a garden with cats and a room with character but perhaps not all the amenities? You'll like this. The location, beach-wise, was great. My two adult kids stayed in this room. It took them a while to figure out how some things worked. But the price was right, the owner/operator was delightful, and they ended up very happy with it."
