"The staff were very friendly and helpful but overworked as unfortunately they were understaffed and thus the restaurant and bar areas are closed Mondays and Tuesdays right now. This made finding nearby meals those days other than a food truck difficult. There is a Foodland in nearby Northbrook. The rooms were updated and clean with basic amenities and comfortable beds. Hopefully there are plans to updated the bar and restaurant too. Great location with Bon Echo only 8 minutes away and gas station across the street. Overall we were happy with our stay 😊"

"Our stay at the Gathering Place on Golden Ponds was amazing. The property is beautiful, the house/room was beautifully decorated, and the homemade breakfast was delicious! Al and Annette were wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here."

"The property in Bancroft was even better than the photos and exceeded our expectations. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed to feel at home such as towels, pots, pans, a kettle, cutlery..... I was there with my 3 year old son and was so pleased to find out that there was a beautiful playground right across the street and within a close walk we attended a community concert that is held each Wednesday night. Its a small quite town but perfect for hiking or fishing. We hope to return again in the future. Thanks to the hosts for sharing your home."

"Our trip was fabulous. I always love a cottage where we are free to bring out furry friend with us. We brought our own paddle boards (the property provided a paddle board and 2 kayaks) and loved being out on the lake. It was nice and calm. A little boat traffic but nothing heavy. It is a bit of a trek into town so if you want a home base for exploring it may not be ideal for you but it was perfect for what we wanted. (It was about 30-45 mins in to the closet town) Time on the water, a campfire and family time, lots of board games.The property was clean, well stocked and everything was easy to find/ access. I loved having the BBQ. I don't think we turned the oven on at all. Perfect family vacation."

"We had an incredible weekend at this beautiful cottage in Bancroft with a group of seven friends, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location right on the water is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking scenery and peaceful surroundings that made it the perfect getaway.The cottage was gorgeous, well kept, comfortable and had everything we needed for an unforgettable weekend. Whether we were relaxing by the water, enjoying the views or sitting around the fire it was the perfect retreat. If you're looking for the perfect cottage to unwind and make lasting memories with family or friends this is it. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Bancroft area!"

"My friends and I had a lovely stay here! We planned for summer but it rained throughout - luckily the cottage is suitable for all seasons. The firepit setup was great for when it was cold, and the deck by the water was great for when the sun was finally out. We brought our own drinking water and food, but otherwise everything else was available. Totally worth the visit!"
