About this property

Bright Stylish Chic 4BR 4BA Home Pet Friendly!

  • Welcome to this light, bright, spacious home, perfect for families and groups. Built in 1869 and updated with a light-filled sunroom with woodburning stove, large playroom stocked with toys, and a huge primary suite and bath. With over 3,800 square feet, it has 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 with tubs. Plenty of space for groups to gather, and also for someone to find a quiet spot to retreat. 1 hour from NYC, close to downtown Stamford, and Greenwich CT shops and beaches.

    CHECK IN TIME: 4 PM
    CHECK OUT TIME: 10 AM

    The huge backyard provides a lovely view with a towering oak tree and a rolling lawn. At the far end of the yard is a pond and stone patio. In the spring and summer there are frogs in the pond, and the occasional turtle.

    The playroom is large, sunny, and stocked with toys that kids are welcome to play with. Our outdoor swingset / playset accommodates small children - best for children 10 and under.

    We have a binder in the house that is full of detailed info about the house, wireless access, garbage pickup, the area, shopping, activities, restaurants, recreation, etc. We are very easy to contact via text or phone with any questions at all you have during your stay -- no matter how small.

    The neighborhood is bucolic and rural. There's a horse farm nearby, down a winding road. The forested Mianus River Park, with its lovely hiking trails that run alongside the river, is a 3-minute drive from the house, great for jogging, hiking, mountain-biking or walking the dogs (or kids!). The house has easy access to the Merritt parkway (Route 15) so getting into NYC or to nearby Greenwich, CT is easy. Shopping on trendy Greenwich Ave. (Saks, Tiffany, J. Crew, etc.) is 15-20 minutes away. Stamford train station is about 15-20 minutes from the house, and has many trains running into New York's Grand Central station, a 1-hour train ride away.

We stayed at this beautiful home to be nearby for our daughter's wedding. It was well-situated and had so much space inside and outside. The host could not have been more welcoming and available and considerate of our needs. While we used it as a base of operations, I think it would be wonderful for a family get-together of any kind. You could hang out there, cook big meals and feel we cared for. Lots of common space on the main floor and lovely bedrooms and baths upstairs. We loved our time there and highly recommend it for a family gathering.

My family and I absolutely loved this property! Very spacious and comfortable and yard and play space for the kids was such a bonus. Dierdre was wonderful and stayed checked in with us to make sure we didn't need anything. Highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect House for Family Wedding

This house was perfect for our family to celebrate our son’s wedding. The house is beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed. We definitely will stay here again when back in Stamford!

This was our third stay here. That should say it all! Deirdre’s home is the perfect home away from home. Her home is so comfort. As soon as you walk in the door, you will know you made the right decision. Everything you could need from a rental home is here, and more. Deirdre is always available if you need to communicate with her for any reason. Set away from the town center, so you have quiet and peace…but close enough to town if you need groceries, shopping, dining, medical care, banking, etc…

Conveniently located but yet still very private. Owners have thought of every amenity needed !

Owners opened their beautiful home that was a delightful combination of an old home that had been modernized offering many unique features but was both welcoming and comfortable.

Cute place!

Lovely pond outside and lots of toys and things for families to do. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils which made it easy to make meals. House was warm when it was chilly outside, so we enjoyed snuggling!

Great Family Vacation

This house has everything a family could need on vacation: plenty of beds, a big yard, and toys for children of all ages. It is about 15 minutes from downtown Stamford and a little further from Greenwich, with a large number of restaurants and parks nearby. It is also convenient to get to the train to New York. We will definitely consider coming back here!

The house and grounds were perfect for a gathering of siblings and cousins from distant parts of the US. We had not seen each other in many years. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and dining areas worked well for an extended-family lunch.

Family Happiness

I was traveling for a family wedding where I was staying home with the grandkids while my adult kids went off to enjoy. This house was perfect. Lots of space, so comfortable, and we had everything...I mean everything we needed to just roll in and be happy with two little kids. Toys, pack and plays, comfy beds and more. Perfect Family Home

I cannot say enough good things about Deirdre's beautiful home and how grateful my family was to be able to stay here during our visit to Stamford. The house is perfect for a family with younger kids; they were so excited to have their very own play room! The rooms and bathrooms are well equipped with everything you might need, as was the kitchen. Deirdre in particular was so communicative and helpful with all of our questions. We very much hope to have an excuse to stay here again!

Wonderful weekend getaway for kids

We loved our weekend stay and this house is THE BEST if you have young kids! Incredible playroom with lots of toys, big backyard with swings, high chair for the little ones, the works! Also great back deck looking over the yard and a cool sitting room for cocktails while listening to records. Terrific home in a great location on a quiet road. The host checked in with us directly to ensure we had everything we needed. Loved it.

Quiet Serenity

We had a wonderful family visit! The playroom, garage full of rideable toys, and private backyard set the stage for a perfect week long vacation with our grandchildren. Beautiful, well-designed home with ample indoor and outdoor space

We loved our stay at Deirdre's home. It was extremely comfortable for the seven of us (3 kids and 4 adults). The baby nursery was well-equipped, which saved us a lot of hassle. The backyard was great for the kids and Deirdre provided a ton of toys for the kids to use back there. We were happy to be there during a beautiful autumn week, but I could imagine it being quite beautiful during a snowy, winter week as well. Deirdre was also very communicative and accomodating. We would happily return to this wonderful home.

This home has heart

It was such a pleasure spending the weekend in this delightful home. It could not have been more welcoming nor charming. Our family was quickly at ease in this wonderful family home. Every need was anticipated and provided for. The furniture helped make conversation and relaxation flow instantly. The linens were soft and beds cozy, temperature was easily controlled. (This weekend was like 3 seasons in one. The toiletries were top quality and the laundry was easily accessed. The property was a beautiful refuge complete with Blue Heron visits! If you are looking for a fun, comfortable and family friendly rental then look no further. Deirdre was always quick to respond to any questions and extremely clear in any communications. It is obvious that when you stay in her home, a piece of her heart is always with you!

Cute house, perfect for a family!

The house was so cute! It had everything you could need and more if you’re traveling with kids. Literally, everything. My kids LOVED the playroom and the tire swing. The location was great. Easy to get everywhere. The host was so great to work with. Check in and out were so simple. The downstairs of the home was so comfortable - the little pitch by the back deck was perfect for coffee and breakfast in the morning…it made you feel at home right away. The absolute only complaint was the master was SOOOO bright in the morning I had to get those temporary black out things on Amazon for the week. But it seems to be a common thing in rentals everywhere that there’s never black out shades or like curtains at all, just those paper thin shades. But, I would stay here again next summer without a doubt and hopefully for a longer period of time. Highly recommend the property. Thank you so much for a perfect start to our summer!
