The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our appetite for exploring. Here are some tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Know the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you book your flight.
• When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied boarding.

• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll have to remove it for screening.

• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
