My wife and I have stayed in countless rentals over the years and few stand out as amazing as this gem! The views from the porch are amazing and the wood details inside were excellent. Very secluded and private place with all the amenities you could need.
We loved the tobacco barn. I liked that there was a tv in every space and a blackstone grill to cook on in the evenings while we watched the deer in the field. The hot tub was a plus! We explored Stone Mountain and Grassy Creek winery. Our favorite meal was the Angry Troll…besides my boyfriends amazing ham and burgers and squash on the grill and the decor in the barn is so cute and the host is quick to respond.
The place was a great location for a peaceful getaway. Tucked back away from the roadway in the middle of an open field, this place give ample opportunity for peace and quiet. 15 minutes away from Stone Mountain and a few minutes away from downtown Elkin. The place was clean, the outdoor area was amazing. Others mentioned about the window in bedroom, it was very bright waking up with no sun shade. Would definitely stay again.
The cabin is exactly as pictured and an authentic restoration of the tobacco barn style. We loved how relaxing the hot tub and landscape was. The ladder to the 2nd floor is steeper than expected and could use rails or something so it's easier to access. The sunshine was very bright and welcoming in the mornings. We loved the loft style though and the views upstairs. The bar style dining area and multiple tvs was great too! The local towns were wonderful to visit, especially Elkin and Mt Airy. We recommend visiting the thrift shops and gift shops. We'd love to return for another stay and highly recommend this cabin!
Awesome little cabin for a couple to enjoy a relaxing getaway. It was clean and comfortable and had everything needed. Linens were included, excellent quality towels, and even comfy, warm bathrobes! Beds were already made which is always nice. The property gounds are serene and beautiful. Lots of deer around. The porch is fabulous. At night you can see a ton of stars from the hot tub. The only thing we didn't like was the ladder to access the bedroom and bathroom. Definitely not a deal breaker though and for the price, this little gem exceeded my expectations. We went to a couple of antique stores nearby, our favorite was Antique Mall of the Foothills. Highly recommend! And also check out the State Road Hardware store. It has a good selection of gifts, clothing, hats, etc. Elkin is a beautiful little town nearby with some cute shops and restaurants but we only drove thru there. Overall, it's a great little cabin in a beautiful area of the NC foothills. Would love to visit again!
as you approach this peaceful oasis, you may think there's no way it can live up to the reviews. but it does -- amd even exceeds them. the perfect peaceful place to spend time just absorbing the views and sounds and simplicity.
To be completely honest, I had just looked at the pictures and not read the details, so the ladder up to the bedroom and bathroom was a bit of a surprise to us (at 50 years of age), but it was an adventure. Very “on theme” with the barn concept. Great communication as well and thoughtful to inform us that early check-in was an option, as they had finished cleaning early.
Definitely more cute than comfortable. The ladder to the bedroom and bathroom was a surprise, but I guess maybe that was in the listing and I missed it. Hot tub and patio lights were both malfunctioning when we were there. Bathroom in particular looks cute, but no where to hang towels, put stuff, etc. Surprised by the high cleaning fee given that we were expected to strip all linens and do the dishes (by hand - no dw) Also unsure about the other fees ... In short, look at the fine print on this one very carefully - there's a lot of nickle and diming that makes what looks pretty reasonable a lot less so.
I booked this cabin for a long weekend birthday celebration for my husband. It is a cozy, rustic cabin with an amazing outside space (to include a hot tub and outdoor TV). The outside TV didn’t work for us but the host was responsive and had it fixed in a timely manner. In the property description it mentions “don’t be surprised if you see a stink bug”. I can manage through the occasional stink bug. However this cabin, during this time of year, is infested with stink bugs. You should be aware that we counted over 100 stink bugs and we dealt with it as best we could. But, when one fell on me while we were in bed, that was our last straw.
The cabin is very nice and the location is beautiful. We noticed a new building is being built not too far from the cabin. Hopefully it will not effect the privacy feature of the cabin.
What a wonderful weekend in the peaceful mountain air. This place is amazing and so cozy. Tristan was great to answer texts fast and any questions we had. Def reccommenrld.
This place was everything we needed for our anniversary trip! We needed somewhere that we could get away from everything and simply spend time together. We got that and more here! From the beautiful views of nature to the hot tub, this beautiful cabin offers so very much. We woke up on Wednesday, made a cup of coffee, and sat on the porch swing. It was a simple morning which are the ones I love most. We ate at Terry’s cafe which was so delicious, and then hiked at Stone Mountain. Everything we were hoping for in this place, we got! We will most definitely be back one day!
