Everything was perfect!!! The things that need to be updated are updated, and the things that don't, aren't! It was a lovely, historic place to stay. In our opinion, way better than a hotel. It was a chilly weekend and we were perfectly warm, check in was easy, and check out was even easier. Great location to everything in town. We have recommended this place to all our family and will stay again.

The host was fantastic! She is very easy to communicate with! The house is in a great location to see the town. The bed was comfortable. The house itself was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch eating dinner. The house was clean and fun to stay in!

Beautiful Accommodations

The property is exceptionally charming with every amenity you could want. It's in the heart of downtown Ste. Genevieve, perfect for walking to all kinds of attractions. Also notable: we found the house to be a perfectly comfortable sanctuary, despite the sweltering heat outside.

Location, location, location! We had a wonderful stay at this charming historic home in the heart of the historic neighborhood in Ste. Genevieve. The house is beautifully decorated and well appointed—our host truly thought of everything. The bed was very comfortable, the home was spotless, and the back porch quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax.The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming, and the host was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. Overall, our stay was enjoyable from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend this place and would happily stay here again!

220 Merchant St, Dufour House

My wife and I had a great stay in the Dufour House. The House was charming, comfortable and in the middle of everything. We parked the car and didn't move it for three days as we could walk to wineries, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. We found the hosts most helpful and available. We would recommend the Dufour House to anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet but active vacation in Ste Genevieve, Missouri

A hidden gem!

I knew we were staying in a historic house when I booked the listing but I didn’t realize the historic significance of the building at the time. The listing undersells itself and is an absolute steal. The home is extremely clean and has more amenities than you could ever dream of. The owners were so kind and helpful. 10/10, I won’t stay anywhere else the next time we are in town.

Had a wonderful stay. Property is as described, with the added amenity of a coffee and tea bar on one side of the bedroom. Super clean, charming, comfortable, and the host was very responsive. Within walking distance of everything in the historic district, lots of restaurants, historic homes, and information centers. Had some great meals, but save room for ice cream at Sara’s. Small shop, but amazing ice cream and friendly folks. This was one of the most relaxing short trips I’ve had. I will definitely stay here again!

Perfect accommodation and location for two senior citizens. Loved being able to park right next to the house. The AC worked beautifully. But the owner even set up a couple of fans which we used during the hottest period of our 2-night stay. They were also kind enough to make sure we could easily set up our cpap machines. Nice getaway all around :)

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Rivertown Retreat. Very clean and cozy with everything we needed. Great location close to lots of restaurants, easy walking. Our host, Jayne, made check in/out very easy. Great place for a couple looking to enjoy the Ste. Genevieve area.

This was a great little spot to stay!!! It has a lot of old world charm that is quite lovely. It is also in a great spot as you can walk to so many shops and restaurants from here.
