"As a Senior Citizen, I found it slightly difficult to step up from the parking area to the deck to access the door using just the long blocks of cement provided"
"We stayed in one of the cabin rooms and were greeted by a very musty smell. We had to open the windows for an hit or so to air the place out. Window were hard to open, as though they hadn’t been opened in a long time.
The lights over the sink didn’t work so we moved the one lamp from the only nightstand back and forth as needed.
The door between the kitchen area and the bedroom couldn’t open all the way. It would run into the floor and grind to a halt, making it difficult to come in go through the doorway and also to closing the door again to open up the space in front of the sink.
The GFI in the kitchen would trip with only a phone charger plugged in. This interrupted power to the light over the sink and to the light into the bathroom. Very inconvenient.
We weren’t expecting deluxe accommodations. But this was quite mediocre at best. Too rustic.
The location was good, bird life was great, the river sounds were amazing, and proximity to the resources in Chama were nice.
Will likely try a different property next time."
Rustic 7-BDRM and 3-bath lodge in a gated community in Los Ojos with WiFi access
2/10 Terrible
"Nothing went well. The house is a fire hazard due to the solar batteries, power work periodically, no heat, water. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this location. "
"Great stay if you’re looking to get away and off the grid a bit. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Lots of entertainment downstairs for the kids and dogs. Chama has a couple of great little places to eat and explore. Quick drive to Pagosa Springs. 100% recommend!"
"The home is wonderfully cozy and so much fun for families. We loved sitting in front of the gas fireplace each evening, playing badminton, and the kids paddled around in the boats left by the dock. We stayed the week of Thanksgiving, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need for a Thanksgiving meal. There is a large closet upstairs that is fully stocked with games and toys for younger kids- truly something for every age range. This house feels like going home. The host was very kind and accommodating. She made everything so easy and comfortable. Would highly recommend this property! "
