Cozy cabin on class A Musky Lake - Lake Big Sissabagama - Pet Friendly
Welcome to this cozy cabin that has everything needed to have a wonderful vacation at the lake. Featuring two bedrooms with double beds and a 53" x 75" Futon in the living room. The large deck overlooking the lake has the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. Stroll down to the lake to enjoy a fire. The dock is the perfect place to rest a boat while waiting for the next fishing or boating adventure; or just watch the sunset. The shoreline, with it’s sandy beach, is great for walking and the lake itself is fabulous for swimming.
The lake, Big Sissabagama Lake, is an 805-acre fishing lake that can reach depths of 48 feet. It has a year-round fishery with above average bluegill and crappie, as well as trophy musky. Other fish include panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. This lake has tons of structure for fish to hang out in as well as nice weed beds for fish to spawn. Bait is available at Stone Lake Hardware and Bait Shop. For more pictures of fishing in the lake look at the Big Sissabagama Lake facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/278532946835221 Scroll down to September 5th to see the kids catching northern and perch. On July 31st Brent posted a 43" Musky.
Here are some reviews of Big Sissabagama Lake: “The lake has lots of humps and points to fish, and that they caught a 3-foot walleye on a spinnerbait in 3 feet of water.” “The lake is good for muskie fishing, and that it's a good jerk bait lake.” “The lake is one of their favorites to fish, especially in the fall, and that it gets some pressure.” Find fishing reports and maps for Big Sissabagama Lake on Fishbrain. https://fishbrain.com/fishing-waters/RJ_4ubyA/sissabagama-lake

The property and cabin are everything you would expect from an Up North lake property. Beautiful, quiet setting with a sweet bear-themed cabin interior. The perfect getaway for sun, water, and relaxation.
This is a great cabin! There is plenty of room and very comfortable! The deck is amazing! So nice to sit outside and look over the lake. Looking forward to renting again!
This beautiful cabin on Big Sissabagama Lake is just what we were looking for. The view of the lake from the large deck was spectacular, with small islands in the distance and clear, sparkling water. We kayaked around the islands and saw loons, geese on their nests, and an eagle in a pine treetop. The cabin was clean, comfort-able and well-appointed. Communication was great!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the porch was perfect for reading and listening for the loons. Quiet and on a beautiful lake. Curt was great with communication.
We had a great, quiet, relaxing stay at this cozy cottage. We brought bikes and kayaks. If we fished this is a perfect place for it. The cottage has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to a WI Supper Club and a short drive to town for activities and everything else.
Nice cabin with large deck. The lake and shore was great for swimming. The water was so clear. The boat was so helpful answering questions and responded quickly. This place was perfect and would stay again. Plus it’s close to a little town with a wine shop. And a couple other places.
The cabin was very cute on the outside with a huge deck. The view of the lake was amazing. The inside was also cute. The bathroom was nice as well. We did enjoy most of our stay there. The only negative was the bed sizes in the listing were listed as Queen size. They were not. They were all 3 full size. We measured and also the sheets said full. So my husband and I were super uncomfortable sleeping together. We did not want to sleep in separate beds. After all this was an anniversary trip. We specifically looked for queen or bigger when looking for a place to stay on Stone Lake.
Cabin exceeded our expectations.
Ice cold AC on those sticky days.
We had our fishing boat up there, but the bass and blugills were really good off the dock.
Great a little sandbar to dock up to.
Area dining is good. Get on the list at Pine Ridge
A peaceful lake with loons and eagles - what's not to love
Thoroughly enjoyed this property on Lake Sissabagama. Amenities were great. We weren't looking for a luxury setting. This is a classic, charming north woods cottage and most of our time was spent outdoors. Nearby Stone Lake had all we needed. We will very likely return.
We spent a week here over the Fourth of July and loved it! The cabin had most of what we needed, and there is a small grocery/general store in Stone Lake near by for anything else we needed.
The cabin itself was so cozy. We all slept soundly each night in the comfy beds. Everything was in good condition and clean.
The sandy shallow lake bottom was perfect for our daughter (2) to play in. The water is crystal clear with hundreds of tiny minnows darting around for her to observe. At dusk, bluegill and pumpkin seeds were biting like crazy! They were all large enough for us to have a tasty breakfast the next day.
We were expecting the lake to be busy, and there were a few party pontoons and jet skis each day but overall very serene and peaceful! The lake is easy to canoe and wildlife is abundant. Much of the lakefront is left natural. Heron, snakes, turtles, king fishers, etc are abundant!
We highly recommend and will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay! This was our first time visiting the state of Wisconsin, and I'm very glad we found this place, it was just what we "needed" to get away and relax for a few days. The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable, but we spent as much time outdoors as possible because the lake view was *spectacular* and the surrounding woods were quiet and peaceful. I had brought a canoe with me and fortunately the weather was ideal so we took it out on the lake every day, and we saw Bald Eagles, loons, osprey, and other wildlife. We also packed a couple of hammocks which we used to relax in the shade while enjoying the breeze off the lake. It would be hard to overstate the natural beauty of this location. We also ventured into Hayward for a couple of meals, and also a "lumberjack show" which was entertaining. Curt was an excellent host. His descriptions of the cabin, the lake, and surrounding areas was spot on and very helpful. The few times I messaged him with questions, he responded within minutes every time, with very helpful answers. Being able to bring our small dog with us was also very helpful. It was a great trip for us all around - relaxing and rejuvenating, just what we had hoped for. I would absolutely stay here again if we have the opportunity.
Great place, it’s my husbands old family cabin. We love the lake, location, and everything about this place as there’s a lot of sentiment. The new owners have kept it 95% looking exactly the way it looked when my husbands family owned it.
This cabin was great for my husband and I. It's clean, cozy and has a great view of the lake from the porch. Big Lake Sis is wonderful also. The boat launch that is available across the lake from the cabin is super easy and quick to get to. We would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic little cabin! Great fishing- my son caught a huge Northern pike right off the dock. Very clean and great communication with the owner. Appreciate being dog friendly as well. Highly recommend!
This was our first time staying at Curt's cabin on Big Sissabagama Lake and it was wonderful. The cabin has a cozy, woodsy vibe that's warm and welcoming. The entire place was clean and comfortable. Check in was easy, Curt was responsive, and the Wi-Fi worked great. We were able to bring our 7-month old puppy, which as an added bonus. We definitely recommend this cabin!
Cute cabin with great views of the lake. Our stay was very relaxing. Our favorite things about this property were the deck and the gas fireplace. Views of the lake from inside the cabin were very nice! TV and WiFi worked well for movies and streaming. The only unplanned issue was bringing home our garbage (including dog poop) but thankfully we drove a pick-up truck. I think it is worth noting this policy in the property information so that guests can plan accordingly.
