The Cottonwood cabin by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest

The Cottonwood cabin by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest

10/10 Excellent
"This place was so cute!!!! We wanted a quiet getaway and this place delivered. From the rustic feel with modern amenities to the starry nights by the fire 10/10. The property cats, Oreo and Stripes, were the sweetest fur babies. They definitely love their treats (yes I was suckered into getting a little bag of treats). The pond was a nice little fishing hole for catch and release. We spend all day one of the days hiking and visiting historical sites (Garden of the Gods, Cave-in-rock, Rim Rock, Iron furnace historical site, Herod Cave historical site, pounds Hollow). Must try place is The Fishing Dock, the catfish was super good and so was the bacon cheeseburger. It’s right on the Ohio River. Now the staff was absolutely amazing and sweet!! Check in was a breeze!! Make sure you plan gas appropriately as gas stations are sparse. We plan on definitely coming back in the future."

Sassafras Ridge Log Cabin by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest

Sassafras Ridge Log Cabin by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest

10/10 Excellent
"The cabin was nice, matched the pictures online. It was also very clean, only 2 or so spills in the fridge which just took a quick wipe. The ac worked better on 1st level than on 2nd but kind of expected as one downstairs is a wall ac and upstairs it was a smaller window unit. We fit 5 adults and 3 kids comfortably. They had firewood very close to the cabin which was nice, and the view of starts in the large field across the cabin was great! They are pet friendly so we were able to bring our cat, loved that! Check in was very smooth & they were accomidating to us having a very late check in. I also really liked how you didnt need keys to access the cabin, used a pin at door which was convinient as there was no worries on losing a set of keys. Would definetly go again! :)"

Rustic 1 bedroom/1 bath home w/loft that sleeps 8. Near Shawnee National Forest

10/10 Excellent
"Cabin was very clean. There was a basket of treats welcoming us when we entered the cabin, very thoughtful by the host. Cabin was nice and cool although it was quite hot outside-in the 90's. Beds were comfortable, our daughter enjoyed the loft. I liked the early mornings sitting on the back porch drinking my coffee, the back porch even has ceiling fans to keep one cool. It was way to hot(for us) to use the fire pit. All we had to supply was food, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, a good variety of spices, dish soap and laundry soap , and more, came supplied with the cabin. We liked the location, the small town close by had most of what we needed , but a larger town is but a 30-35 minute drive. The cabin exceeded our expectations. If we were to go back to that area we would check first to see if this cabin was available."

Treehouse Hot Tub Cabin-Closest Cabins to Garden of the Gods-Shawnee Forest

Treehouse Hot Tub Cabin-Closest Cabins to Garden of the Gods-Shawnee Forest

10/10 Excellent
"The treehouse hot tub getaway was perfect. Just what we needed to rest, refresh, and reset. The treehouse itself was so quaint, quiet, and cute! Very log-cabin in a tree inspired, but also fairly modern with the lighting, electric fireplace inside, and Roku smart television, plus a full kitchen and bathroom. The lighted suspension bridge to the hot tub was absolutely gorgeous, but be prepared to be in nature (meaning there are bugs and animals and spiderwebs). We did get to see some absolutely gorgeous birds (cardinals, yellow-bellied finch, and a HUGE owl at the cabin) and it’s perfect for “glamping” or modern-day camping with the set up for grilling your meals and a perfect campfire ring. Super close to many gorgeous hiking trails and beautiful nature to get grounded. Be ready for no cell service in the area (but that’s part of the beauty of it)"
