Due to the weather we were unable to drive from Akureyi as we had planned. I called first thing in am to explain the 2 main bridges were closed and the hotel we were leaving recommended we should not drive as it was not safe. The hotel will not refund our money and were very rude when I called that afternoon to discuss. The manager the following Tuesday would not approve a refund. This hotel lacks customer service and does not care about the safety of their customers. I highly would highly discourage this hotel.

This hotel is not on par with other Icelandic hotels of its class. It is not as nicely appointed, has deferred maintenance, and no in-room coffee. It is lacking in cleanliness.

This hotel is in a quiet little town that was walkable. There is a Restaurant to eat in the hotel, or it is very close to a handful of restaurants.

Front desk folks are so nice! Room (a triple) was large and beds were good. Carpeting shows signs of wear and past visitors and some mold in the shower. Hotel has a great location, a restaurant on site and a bartender.

Great location overlooking the harbor. The restaurant rooms were spacious compared with other double rooms we booked on this trip. Very clean and hotel has a friendly white cat in residence in the lobby

Lovely place.
Returned to visit Stykkisholmur 30 years after first visit. Was lucky with the lovely weather. Still a lovely place to visit, and the Fosshotel was excellent. Very nice hotel and very goopd friendly staff.

Clean and modern facilities, professional staff. Food just okay, breakfast could be better for a hotel of this class. Room was very small, especially the bathroom that doesn't have room for a shower enclosure, just a door.

A comfortable hotel with all the basic amenities. Walls were a bit thin so that sounds from the hallway and adjacent rooms could be heard. Rooms were small yet quite adequate.

Good place to eat, not a real good night's sleep!!
The hotel is very nice, BUT the bedding was horrible! The beds were 2 twin beds NOT locked together, and on a wood floor. At 66, and 300lbs, how do you think that worked!!! The beds of course split apart the first time I even thought about rolling over. There also was NO SHEETS. They have this sandpaper rough bed cover, (VERY ITCHY), and of course "NO top sheet". Just this very heavy comforter. All in all, nice hotel as long as you "don't" want to get a good night's sleep.. Oh, asked the girl at the front counter, which way was North, so I could see the lights, she said, and I quote, "I don't know" Say what!!! Course this was the same girl who put someone my size on a twin bed... Not sure I'd have her working customer service!!!! The cleaning staff had NO clue what I meant by NO SHEETS... Not sure where they get their staff...

Rooms were nice and clean and parking was easy, but parking spots are very tight (hello door ding on our rental car). We took the Ferry over and didn't get there until 9:30 so were disappointed there were no dining options (hotel restaurant closed by the time we checked in) and local restaurants were still open and the only grocery store had already closed. We were able to get ice from the bar and a couple snacks.
