A hidden gem

Wonderful getaway, but no where near Stykkyslhomur as advertised. In fact, quite a distance and very hard to find, especially using GPS for the name of the hotel.

This was such a beautiful and quaint place to stay during our trip! The owner was amazing, doing everything from check in to services to waiting tables. You can tell they take a lot of price in running this hotel and their hard work pays off! Everything was very tidy and the space was quiet and relaxing. The food was amazing, and the views are great too. They also have laundry facilities for a fee, which is super helpful!

Helpful staff, but I had to wait 1,5 hours for my dinner order, and gave up finally. I did not eat my meal order until lunchtime the next day. After that, I only had breakfast there, which was okay.

Our stay in this farm/hotel was superb from start to finish. Absolutely great! The reception Joy, the dinner, the room and the facility with the amazing view. Highly Recommend

Simply amazing.
I cannot even describe with words how amazing the stay at Stundarfriður was. I just loved it. I loved the room, the building, the surroundings, dinner... I only would have added some gluten-free bread for dinner and breakfast because I cannot eat gluten but, other than that, I an amazing had breakfast and dinner. We even had a little problem with the shower and, even though it was late at night, we called the phone they give you at reception desk and they helped us straight away.

The property was beautiful and we had excellent service and food. We got 2 great nights of the Northern lights during our visit. We had dinner and breakfast there. The room was clean and a great size. Would stay again. Only thought is that I wish there was a protein at breakfast (eggs) but the rest of breakfast was great.

Lovely hotel in a gorgeous location. Our room was charming, spacious, and had a spectacular view. Very conveniently located near Helgafell, Stykkishölmer and the Shark Museum. An excellent base from which to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Highly recommend.

Remote location - mixed bag
Hotel was cozy and very quiet. Bedding was a little strange with furry coverlet and accent pillows, but everything seemed very clean. This hotel is located off a gravel road so a bit bumpy getting there, but not hard to find. Radiant heat floors are a bit of an issue as there are no individual controls for rooms which assumes that everyone has the same internal temperature. Our room was quite cool and they needed to provide a space heater that we needed to move around to heat the bathroom and main room. Dinner menu and bar inventory was very limited so if you want more options you need to drive into nearest village.

One night at Stundarfridur.
Stundarfridur is a lovely multi room lodging that seems very new. A log cabin-style, the rooms are very spacious, exceptionally comfortable and quiet, and while it’s a short drive from Stykkisholmur and restaurants or other amenities, it does have a restaurant on site. Food service was a bit slow for dinner, but it was busy and there were just two ladies working very hard to keep everyone happy. I’d stay again if in the area.

Friendly staffs and a good location to see Northern Lights. But it is a bit hard to find at night. The GPS in my car could not find it and I had to rely on the Google Map on my phone. Would be great to provide GPS Coordinates to the guests.

Possibly my favorite place in Icleand. Small hotel with about 7 rooms, felt like a log cabin but very updated (seemed brand new) and clean. Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Room had DVD player and there was a library of DVDs in the hall.

This property was difficult to find and no email received with directions..however, once found, it was a lovely stay. New, clean, with very comfortable beds and large rooms. No cooking facilities as is a licensed property, but breakfast included.

The biggest problem with the hotel is to find it (At least so far the hotel is not even shown on the google satellite map), but that's all the trouble you will have. The hotel is not very big (7 rooms in total i think), but cozy and clean. The room I lived in was spacious. There is a dinning room so eating is not a problem. Since it is away from towns it's a great spot for aurora hunting~
