Splendid Cozy Log Cabin with Beautiful Mountain Views!
Come enjoy a mountain sanctuary at Wood's End. Located at the end of a quiet road on private, wooded mountain acreage with beautiful long-range mountain views, and surrounded by miles of walking and hiking trails; Wood's End is a classic-style Log Cabin which has been lovingly and painstakingly remodeled inside from top to bottom.
The original square log walls and wide-plank wood floors have been brought back to their original glory, yet the Kitchen has been outfitted with new Stainless appliances and Granite countertops. The bathrooms have also been completely redone with granite vanities and oversized ceramic tile floors, vaulted ceilings with hardwood accents and heat lights, fully-tiled tub and shower settings. The Living Room features its original stone wood-burning fireplace with a beautiful hearth and mantle. Equipped with a large wall-mounted Flat Panel HDTV with Surround Sound Enjoy the mountain air and view on the front porch and dine on the huge extended deck. During the warmer summer days enjoy the comfort of the Central Air Conditioning.
The Master Bedroom is on the main floor with a Queen bed, wall-mounted flat screen HDTV with digital cable programming and Netflix capability. It has a full bathroom with an large tiled shower and granite top vanity.
The Second floor features two additional bedrooms - one with a Queen bed and the other with a Queen and a Twin bed. Both bedrooms have large closets and share a full bath with tile floors, a granite vanity, vaulted ceiling, with a tub/shower fully-enclosed in beautiful tile work.
The outside living space includes a 2-tier deck; a covered front porch with an open-air grilling area, and a step down onto a beautiful open-air deck with a large outdoor dining table and chairs. Walk down the stone path to the impressive Fire Pit which is enclosed in a large pea gravel field with chairs and benches. There is a covered back porch with a nice flat mulched area behind the cabin for your outdoor play and recreation.
Venture away from the cabin among acres and acres of wooded mountainside acreage lined with walking and hiking trails, hidden places with benched seating - the Watauga River is even within walking distance of the cabin (1 mile walk or 1/2 mile drive) for cooling off with a quick dip, or trying your hand at fishing for mountain trout which run through the Watauga River.
Although is feels like you are out on a mountain in the middle of nowhere, you are actually only 12 miles to Downtown Boone, or only 5 miles to the Tennessee line, then another 5 miles or so to the eastern part of the Watauga Lake.

My wife and I spent the weekend here and really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is in a quiet, secluded area about 20 mins outside of Boone. Close by to several hikes and with a very nice firepit area overlooking the mountains.
This authentic log cabin was the perfect accommodation for our mountain trip! Both inside and out was very well maintained, and it would be hard to beat the scenic view offered from the front porch. The owners were fantastic in making sure our visit was comfortable and they surpassed our expectations.
Beautiful cabin in a semi-remote location perfect for our family. This adorable cabin is well appointed and we were very comfortable during our stay. The couch and beds were extremely comfortable and that is rare for a rental. We would absolutely stay here again.
This was a wonderful place to stay during our vacation. The cabin was very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces around the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked so cooking was easy. Great, location, too! The cabin is in a quiet, rural setting and it was an easy drive to nearby attractions, as well. We would return in a heartbeat!
This cabin and the property exceeded expectations. The home was simply lovely and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view didn’t disappoint and there is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin kind of wraps it's arms around you when you walk in. It was very clean, which I loved. The outside decks are nice as well. We were sitting out enjoying the stars and actually saw several satellites pass over. You can definitely relax. Tons of outdoors things to do in the area.
My family of four spends time in the mountains before Christmas every year. This year we had the pleasure of spending time at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was so cozy and clean. We loved the location and the views from the cabin. We felt secluded but were very close to the surrounding areas such as Boone and Banner Elk.We highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is ready to relax and enjoy the peaceful location!
Woods End has everything one needs for a relaxing time in the mountains of North Carolina. The house, especially the kitchen, is very well equipped and was immaculate. We enjoyed rocking on the front porch. Meals at the table on the outside deck were thoroughly enjoyable. At night, the firepit provided a wonderful evening while we roasted marshmallows and/or shared a glass of wine. The location was quiet yet not too far from the town of Boone. Boone is a college town which gives off fun vibes. There are plenty of excellent restaurants. We especially enjoyed the Pedaling Pig....delicious barbecue and superb service. I could go on and on about the month we spent at Woods End, but suffice it to say, we highly recommend this house.
We had a lovely stay. The cabin was every bit as advertised. We really enjoyed it - the patio especially with gorgeous views! We enjoyed a couple local golf courses and local wineries! Also fit in a trip to grandfather mountain! The location of cabin made everything accessible! We will definitely be back!!
The cabin was cozy and charming- upgrades yet tons of character. Great outdoor area with wonderful views. Good location, close to Boone/Blowing Rock. Lucked out with some super weather! Hiked Elk Knob and the Nuwati Trail and other fun activities.
Wonderful cabin with all of the amenities. Cabin was very clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with all necessary cooking supplies. Nice added touch to have the house decorated for Christmas. Will definitely book again.
What a lovely place for a wonderful week vacation! Views were breathtaking and host was nice and made themselves available if we needed! Which we didn’t because everything was perfect! Would definitely recommend!!
The property is amazing. Very cozy and inviting. The host was super responsive when I had any questions. The cabin was clean and very nicely furnished. Wherever you're from, its gonna feel like home. Was an awesome relaxing weekend.
Great cabin. Good communication with the owner. A
Found a couple of issues which we notified the owner of and quickly resolved or responded to. Good location to all ski resorts, Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Would love to come back.
Quiet and relaxing cabin in the woods. It was a great base for our hiking trips to Grandfather Mtn., Linville falls and Hawks bill. And the nearby towns of Sugar Mill, Boone and Banner elk had excellent dining opportunities. The working fireplace was an extra benefit on our chilly nights.
It was a very nice stay. It's at the end of the road, there was a couple of neighbors, but not really visible as surrounded by trees and a nice small open view of the mountain top. You have seclusion and not to far from town, but far enough away for peacefulness and quietness.
Wonderful small cabin with great outdoor fire pit. Ice maker was not working and the refrigerator was somewhat dirty. The cabin is a good distance time wise to Bone, N.C.
Nearest store is about 15 minutes away.
Very nice private location. Very quiet. Beautiful views! The cabin was very comfortable. It has all of the items that you need. It is a rustic location in the woods. The driveway is steep. For us that was a plus and added to the beauty of the cabin.
