"There was baby cockroaches when we enter the room and inside the bath room. Also, dead mosquitoes on the bunk bed. Slippers nd toothbrush only 1 was given. Room airconf not cold. No kettle for boiling water. "

The rooms are spacious in layout, but some details reveal signs of wear—for example, the faucets show oxidation and limescale, the towels are frayed from repeated washing, the quilt is very thin, and the duvet cover feels as though it has been washed thousands of times. For an international hotel chain, I would have expected a higher standard. On the plus side, the breakfast is very extensive, with many authentic local snacks and dishes for guests to try. The service staff are also very friendly and welcoming."

"Stayed one night at Royal Shanaya Villa, 3 bedroom. Loved the luxurious bed and private pool. It was clean and in great condition. The grounds of the property are amazing. The shuttle was quite fun! Contra: the river could be cleaned up. There is construction next to our villa."

"Bed cover got a stain when we came, kindy curious how the room service could have missed a very obvious stain spot like that (we requested for a changed out the next day and got new/clean cover). The room was a bit dated: old caulks and shower curtain need to be replaced. But I do commend on the foods available in the front of the hotel at night! I ate mostly at the next-door malls and only tried the hotel foods on the last night, which were really good (have I known earlier, would have eaten that instead of the mall foods {weren't great at all}). Service staffs are great, super friendly. I would come back for the staff, very kind/nice ppl. "

"We had an outstanding experience staying at Golden Tulip. Everything was spot on. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast option was fantastic. 10/10, definitely will come back if we go to Batu again. Highly recommend. "
