Flooded with light and bright, the large sunroom with floor-to-ceiling windows offers a wonderful view of the greenery. Right after getting up, you can watch the birds flying through the old orchard or the small forest. And in the fall or winter, just light the fireplace and enjoy the view even more while listening to the wood crackle. This is what gives the holiday apartment in the Makrele holiday home its special charm.

The apartment is located on the ground floor of the old fisherman’s house, has its own terrace and private entrance, and, with its two bedrooms, can accommodate up to four people. The large terrace makes it easy to step outside for breakfast and enjoy your first cup of coffee or tea surrounded by nature. Fancy a freshly picked apple or a few raspberries for breakfast? Help yourself in the garden!

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking, and the dishwasher takes care of the dishes, of course. The bathroom is wonderfully spacious. After a long walk on the beach, you can relax here in the bathtub. In the smaller of the two bedrooms, you’ll find a bunk bed; in the larger one, a cosy double bed awaits you. In addition to a small collection of books and games, there’s also a TV and Wi-Fi, of course. You’ll also find a small welcome starter pack with essentials like a few dishwasher tablets, so you can start your holiday stress-free. And for those balmy summer evenings, there’s a grill to help you enjoy them even more.

You can easily park your car on the property, and we’ve built a separate bike shed for your bicycles.

Away from mass tourism, idyllic and peaceful—that’s Stahlbrode. This town, historically shaped by fishing, is surrounded by nature reserves and, thanks to its unique location, has a direct ferry connection to Rügen. Stahlbrode is the perfect place for those seeking a break, wanting to hike or bike, or wishing to visit the most beautiful cities, towns, and spots in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania without having to stay in crowded tourist hotspots. You can even enjoy water sports like kitesurfing, windsurfing, or sailing.

Just 15 minutes to the island of Rügen—whether on foot, by bike, or by car. From April through October, the ferry service takes you to Germany’s largest island, home to stunning natural wonders such as the chalk cliffs in Jasmund National Park or a visit to one of Germany’s oldest nature reserves on the island of Vilm.

The old Hanseatic cities of Stralsund and Greifswald are each a 20-minute drive away and attract visitors with their historic old towns, exciting cultural programmes, and diverse restaurant and bar scenes.

The Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula, as well as the island of Hiddensee, are just an hour’s drive from Stahlbrode, making them ideal destinations for day trips.
