Cottonwood Cottage - 'Pet Friendly' couples escape

Built in 1957 this unique cottage has retained its original charm with modern mid-century design and cool 1950s-1960s styling.

Perfect for a couples getaway, with one bedroom and spacious living areas to relax and unwind, while enjoying the retro décor. Everything in the cottage is in this style from the furnishings to the plates and glassware.

Cottonwood Cottage is pet friendly and is just a 2 minute walk to dog friendly Mudjimba Beach. The large backyard offers ample space for the dog to play along with plenty of seating to soak up the sunshine or retreat under a shady tree.

For your entertainment, it’s only a short walk to local cafes and shops, and the cottage has a smart TV and selection of books and board games for guests to enjoy.

Cottonwood Cottage is the perfect base to explore the Sunshine Coast or just enjoy the laid-back charm of Mudjimba.

Please be advised that the cottage is part of a property where the owners' Lynley & Greg live in the main house.

Cottonwood Cottage Mini Beach Break

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at Cottonwood Cottage with our 2 Poodles. The yard was perfect for our doggies and it was a short stroll to the locale cafes and the beach. We had everything we needed in the Cottage for ourselves and our doggies. We slept with the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and a lovely breeze coming through the louvres. Cottonwood Cottage weekend away

We needed a dog-friendly home for a weekend away in the area to attend a party. Cottonwood Cottage is very sweet, with fantastic retro styling and a lovely garden. I was a bit taken aback on check in as it was not evident when booking that the cottage is actually a separate dwelling inside the bounds of the owner’s house. However the owners were lovely, we felt a reasonable level of privacy, the check in process was smooth and Kristy was very responsive to questions and queries via sms. It’s in a fantastic location.

Nice place close to the Mudjimba beach

Nice cottage. I would have given it 5 stars all around but for the aircraft noise. The cottage is close to the main house. We’ve got some very nice cookies fromLynley. And the dogs loved the big yard.

This is a step back in time to a place where you can breathe....just lovely. I do love a theme and this cottage has bundles of that. The garden is gorgeous and our little Tilley had a ball exploring. I do think in the middle of winter it would be chilly staying there; and there's no air-con so middle of summer might be a challenge as well. But there's heaters and fans everywhere :) There's plenty of boardgames and books; walk to the beach and restaurants; a big fridge for your supplies if you bring your own (you will need to bring some milk if you want a cuppa, but that's about the only thing that's not provided). Super comfy bed for us and the doggo; beach towels; dog towels...everything's here.

The main door did not seal so we had a mozie problem. There needs to be a clear power outage kit. Otherwise the stay was good

Tranquil holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cottonwood Cottage. The accommodation provided everything that we could ever need. Location is also excellent, with everything you need within walking distance or a very short drive away. It was also great that we could bring our fur 'baby' along to enjoy the holiday with us. Our hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Cottonwood cottage

Convenient to beach and local eateries, lovely to have a big backyard and safe environment for us a dog. Lots of kitchen equipment and toiletries was nice. Bed was not comfy and no comfy seating in lounge area, tiny TV and furnishings all from 1950’s so quaint old fashioned style. Including carpentry and flooring throughout. Pricey for what it was.

Totally enjoyable 2 night stay!

This 1950’s - 60’s themed cottage was just as expected from the online listing. We can appreciate the effort the owners went to create this ‘ live in time capsule ‘. It had all the practical accessories for us to enjoy our stay, plus a great back yard for our dogs to run around in.

Cosy Cottonwood

This place has it all. Perfect for a doggo with a massive backyard to play in and explore. Dog towels and blankets supplied. Our Golden retriever didn't want to leave. It is such a well thought out little cottage with everything you need to take some time out. We can't wait for our next visit.

The property is a beautiful escape away from the hustle and bustle of fast paced living. Waking up to the sound of waves and birds such a delight. We will definitely stay there again if the mattress is replaced as it is too soft.
