Stayed here for 2 days as a family of 4, as a transit down to the Islands in Southern Thailand.
Unfortunately one of our party was nursing 'Bangkok belly' so we couldn't see a lot of Surat Thani. However the hotel was functional and utilitarian - exactly what we needed at the time. My only critique (besides the external noise, nothing the hotel can do about that) is the fact the rooms are incredibly spartan, and lack kettles and night lamps.
Overall it's perfect for transiting backpackers, so I know kettles aren't a priority, but they can be used for other things like noodles, tea, coffee.
Overall a good hotel and good value for money with very nice staff. The cafe they own (right next to it) is also lovely, with a good selection of food. Would recommend.
