Unique holiday home with history in Bornholm

Behind the harbor in the old fishing village of Aarsdale, lies an old and authentic Mission House at the end of a small and closed road. The summer house has a beautiful location on the east coast of Bornholm, just a stone's throw from idyllic Svaneke.



The house was worn, sad and located in a parking lot when the family took it over three years ago. They have since given it a loving hand through a renovation in the form of terraces, an outdoor pool and planting of various berry bushes, as well as an apple and almond tree. The family has also made a virtue of preserving the house's original architecture with the large hall with pulpit and inscription on the wall, which now functions as a beautiful and open kitchen-dining room and living room with togetherness as the focal point. The ground floor also contains a large bedroom, a small toilet and a large entrance hall, and then the old choir on the first floor has been soundproofed and decorated as a bedroom with a view of the hall. In the garden is the house's only, but most beautiful bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. (There is no bathroom inside, only a toilet). The house is decorated in soft colors with interiors from Bornholm to reflect the peace and quiet that the local community offers.



The maritime mill and fishing village, Aarsdale, offers a cozy harbor environment with a sauna for winter swimming and a few active fishermen, a beautiful beach just 100 meters from the cottage, a Høker and then Mikkeler has opened a good restaurant and pub in the summer. After a meal in town, you can take a walk to the town's most famous landmark, namely the well-preserved mill from 1877. If you have good walking shoes, you can also go to the beautiful nature and forest area, Paradisbakkerne, with many good hiking routes. If you follow the nature trail three kilometers north you will reach Svaneke, and five kilometers south you will reach Nexø, each of which is completely special in its own unique way.
