The room servicing let down an otherwise pleasant hotel. The rooms are well away from the possibly noisy hotel public area and have lovely views back towards Sydney. The king size bed was comfortable. Our room had a table, but only one chair; a microwave and cutlery, but no plates or cups, and only one water glass and one wine glass. The toilet roll had to be immediately changed as there were only a few sheets left. The were only 2 teabags in a large and rather dusty box along with a partly used jar of instant coffee. We did arrive an hour early but were quite content to wait, so I can't really explain the lax service. The hotel staff were helpful, but it shouldn't have been necessary.

Bathroom had a nice ~10" hole in the ceiling. Under the hole hole a collection of dead bugs that had fallen through. The room was otherwise fine, but damp.

We had great food for lunch and then for dinner at the pub . The room was clean , the bed was a king size , all in all it was fantastic staying there .

Great view, rooms away from pub area. Great meals. Our aircon only let very limited out, with 3 degrees outside in the morning it was very cold inside as well. We did complain, staff member ''reset'' the aircon and she claimed it showed 24 degrees inside on the aircon. On returning to the room there was no difference, just cold and yes the aircon showed 24 degrees. Showing 24 degrees on the crooked aircon doesn't mean the room is 24 degrees. It was very hard to have a shower the next morning because the room would have been less than 10 degrees. Just as well we had an electric blanket on the bed. Since the rooms were upstairs from the pub area there was a metal staircase to go down to the pub. It was raining, the staircase did have a railing on one side made of metal so nice and cold and wet and no lightning at night at all to get back up. Sorry your hotel may look great in the pictures but our stay was just COLD overall.

Nice place to stay, off the road so quiet. Room service for meals if needed. The only thing we found was that the heating wasnt very hot even though we had it turned to maximum, & we would have appreciatted a microwave in the room as my girlfriend didnt eat al the supper & we couldnt then reheat it in our room although they may have done it for us if we had asked

Great view
Old hotel/motel, convenient stop on way to Katoomba. Room well maintained and comfortable. Great view from hotel downstairs.

This is a small motel-style attached to a pub, old style and nothing fancy. Could invest in an update. Convenient for our stay, and as a sleepover. Lunch at the pub was fine, and on a clear day, the view would be great.

Room was clean and spacious but on the coldest day on record was like an ice box as no heating had been turned on for pre booked guests. Room advertised with kitchenette. There was a kitchen sink but no cooking facilities, not even a microwave and no plates or cutlery. Had to chase up cleaner for a bath mat and a toilet roll. We were called after we left asking where was the iron and ironing board when there was none in the room to start with. Rating could have been lower but as stated was clean and spacious and with a few tweaks could be rated higher. But then maybe they don't need to as the customers keep coming.

The staff are rude and not helpful. We were greeted with staff who spoke rudely and then couldn’t be bothered to give us directions to the motel so we got lost and had to go back into the pub to ask for a second time. The rooms are tucked behind the pub up a very steep driveway with no signs and a deserted looking carpark. The rooms have paper thin walls so we can hear everything our neighbours are talking about, very awkward! This lead to a very early 6am wake up call, not happy! The bathroom is outdated and dirty. Bring things for the shower. They haven’t provided any soaps or shampoos and we were given only two towels and one hand towel for two people. The absolute bare minimum. The room is old, smelly and outdated. We have tape outside of our room that says ‘danger’ and spans across all of the rooms to keep you from falling onto a roof below. It is not very safe at all. $140 a night for the privilege of dealing with rude staff and a stinky out dated room. What a waste of money. Will definitely NOT be staying here again. The owners are joking if they think this dump is worth that much money. GOOD BYE!

The room was supposed to be an upgrade, however, there was no chair, no cupboard to put clothes away, nothing on the walls just a king size bed, table with 2 stools, 2 bedside tables and a small tv sitting on the table. The bathroom had a leak in the vanity and after 3 days in horrible heat we had to request a change of sheets and towels as they weren’t forthcoming. Our stay was 8 nights. Comfortable enough as a very basic room. Staff were pleasant and food was pleasant enough.

Thanks for your review Jackie. The rooms are older style and basic Hotel rooms, nothing was promised that was not delivered. This is why we are the cheapest option in the area and no doubt this is why you chose to stay with us. As far as the horrible heat, we have no control over that, but there is a brand new split system air conditioner in that room, so the opportunity to control the temperature in your room was in your hands. Yes the rooms are not serviced, but as per our advertising, servicing is available as an option for $50, which you omitted to mention was waived on the 2 occassions that your rooms were serviced while you were staying with us as we were trying to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Expensive for what you get.
Comfortable bed, spacious room. No mobile phone signal in the room and no wifi available making it difficult for a business trip. Poor bathroom amenities like no soap or shampoo, only a shower gel. Rooms are not serviced. Poor shower pressure and drain smell in the bathroom. Not the most pleasant stay.

Hi, This Hotel has concentrated on being the most affordable option in the area, therefore daily servicing is not included but available on request. It was not requested. We do not access the guests rooms unless invited or requested. Mobile reception is not something that we have control over and is a frustration for everyone that lives in the area. WiFi is not advertised as available or included as we have been unable to get the signal working upstairs, howevere guests are more than welcome to access free WiFi in the Hotel downstairs, which you took advantage of during your stay. This whole area is serviced by tank water on pump systems. I am sorry that the shower pressure was not up to your standard, but this is also something that people in this area have had to learn to live with. The drain smell was actually an orange reed diffuser which is designed to make the room smell nice, once again I apologise for the smell not being to your liking.

Fantastic views and great that the restaurant is in walking distance back to your room. The meals were just delicious and the all the staff so friendly. The room was comfortable nothing like a 5 star but certainly a 3 star. The bed was comfortable and loved the fact there was a choice of a firm pillow no just a really soft one (makes for a better night sleep) A great place to stay. We stayed for 1 night to break our journey and would stay here again plus the added bonus they sell Hillbilly Cider which is a great drink! Give it a try you won’t be disappointed
