Bedford Cottage - Cosy mountain bush retreat.

Located in the middle of the Blue Mountains this original 100-year-old cottage is the perfect place for a cosy, romantic getaway. Newly renovated, it is surrounded by large beautiful gums, close to stunning bushwalks, waterholes, and waterfalls. The cottage is set on an 8-acre block, is private, and feels a world away, yet is 4km from shops and the Great Western Highway and a great base to explore the rest of the Blue Mountains.
The cottage includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a living area with a day bed, board games and books, a fully equipped kitchen, a combustion stove, and reverse cycle air conditioning.
There is a campfire and BBQ area to relax around whilst listening to the birdlife.
We have consciously made choices with the fittings, linen, etc. to be as ethical and sustainable as possible. The sheets, towels, tea towels, cushion covers, and floor mat are all made with natural materials, using sustainable and ethical principles. The personal and household cleaning products were also chosen for their sustainability.
Things to note:
It is an unsealed driveway and it is a little steep and narrow in the last 40m so you can park at the shed and walk or choose to park out front. We can drive our VW Golf to the cottage but it can look a little daunting when you first see it.
We do have dogs on the property, they are friendly and may visit but they are not allowed inside the cottage.
Most of all Bedford Cottage is about the "vibe", relaxing and enjoying the simple life.

Great overnight stay

Short stay in the Blue Mountains for a friends 50th. Bedford Cottage was the perfect mountain hideaway that was convenient and made our weekend away a bit more special.

Wonderful bushland

Easy to get to. Access was not as difficult as i was expecting. Lonely, clean cottage, recently renovated. Plenty of extra blankets for cold nights. My wife and i really enjoyed it yhere and left feeling stress free. Thank you for sharing this lovely little cottage.

We came here to stay for one night but immediately fell in love with this place and were thrilled to have been able to extend the stay by one night. Brian and Carolyn were fantastic hosts with excellent communication that went above and beyond. The cottage...OMG is it cute....well appointed, immaculately clean, and wonderfully secluded to wake up to the birds singing. Thank you for an unforgettable experience in Aussie land!!!! Beautiful little cottage, great instructions for arrival. Self-contained with a pretty view, would come back! However the bathroom door does not close and has an exposed shower. The fridge was not very cold even when turned up to max, may need replacing.

Beautiful rustic cottage with thoughtful ethical touches

We loved the simplicity of the cottage, with almost everything you might need. Beautiful ethical furnishings. Highlights was the secluded nature but not too far from shops….and definitely the outdoor fire where we cooked up a delicious meal and gazed at the fire, trees, stars and moon. It is cold in the winter but there is a heater inside as well as a fire place. Getting in and out was fine - no issues. Such a memorable, special stay for out base in the Blue Mountains.
