Relaxing Weekend Away
Myself and two mates arrived Friday afternoon and had a very relaxing evening by the fire. The following day we went for a short hike down toward the Grose Vale River from the nearest lookout. The remainder of the day was for relaxing in the sun by the cabin, exploring the small river running through the property and having a BBQ dinner beside the fire. The host was accommodating prior to arrival and we had our privacy whilst staying there. I will go back.

Lovely, quiet location, surrounded by bush.
We loved this property for its old-fashioned charm, quiet surroundings and serene outlook. We would like to see an update to some of the furnishings though. Whilst the cottage is charming, some of the furnishings are damaged or worn out. For example, the jet bath is very old and cracked all through; a modern shower and/or bath is essential. Apart from needing a freshen up, the cottage is a wonderful place to get away from the city. It is very quiet, comfortable and serene; the beds are conducive to a good nights' sleep, and there is plenty of room for pets to run. A breakfast hamper would be a nice touch.

The cabin was everything we hoped for and more. Thank you!!
Having the entire area of the cabin to ourselves completely cut off from technology and just immersing and being present every moment in beautiful nature alongside great company was so so soulful ❤️

Relax and Recharge
We absolutely loved this place, we relaxed and recharged. Pet friendly which was an absolute plus!! The hosts Fiona and Mike are amazing!!! Our furbaby Bailey loved the change of scenery!! If your looking for an ideal place to relax and unwind then then this is the place to stay!! So much to do locally without feeling overwhelmed!! Clean and tidy and as per description, Highly recommend!!! We Thank You for having us and will definitely be back!!!

Just what the doctor ordered!
My partner and I had a such amazing and peaceful experience. It was just so nice to get back to basics, have some technology downtime and enjoy the surroundings. The property had all we needed. We did a couple of lovely hikes over the weekend and enjoyed an afternoon at Hillbilly Cider. Highly recommend this property if you’re looking to get out of the city!!

Tranquil!
This property was set in a large garden with lots of trees around! Bird song everywhere. Everything you need is in the cottage and the open fire was very cosy!!

Great amount of space, our two dogs loved it. I will warn you the electric cooker isn't the greatest to cook with but otherwise cabin was cozy and creek was great.

We always love Cabbage Tree Cottage. Such a cosy, quiet spot to relax. Our dog Merlin loves to run and sniff everything. Fiona is always delightful to deal with. We hope to visit again soon.

Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages as magical in 2019 as back in 2001!
My wife and I spent a delightful and relaxing 5 nights at Cabbage Tree Cottage with our 16 1/2 year old son and our black lab. The latter two both loved the open space around the cottage and the surrounding bush, and my wife and I were delighted to find Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages was as magical today as it was when we last stayed there in 2001, the year before our son was born, and with our dear old black lab. A little bit of heaven
Many thanks to Fiona for sharing your wonderful retreat. Cabbage Tree Cottage is warm and cozy and very homey. Our dog Merlin loved running around the grounds. Also thanks to Kevin and Cheryl for providing a clean and well appointed cottage. We will definitely be back.
