Just 3 minutes from Katoomba town centre and Leura Village, and 10 minutes of the Three Sisters, Scenic World and numerous lookouts, waterfalls and bushwalks, Mt Solitary House gives unparalleled access to the Blue Mountain’s favourite attractions and adventures.

    Mt Solitary House offers a simplistic, yet modern design. An entry foyer spills into an open-plan living and dining area with direct views over Mount Solitary through generous valley-facing windows. A newly renovated kitchen extends the living area, equipped with all essentials, including gas stove, coffee machine, toaster, oven, and of course, mountain views.

    No one will miss a great night’s sleep with Mt Solitary House’s five bedrooms, each fitted with fresh bed linen and towels before every booking. Two master bedrooms offer a King and Queen bed, respectively, each with ensuites. Two additional bedrooms each with Queen beds, a fifth bunk-bed room, and a linen-fitted portable floor mattress (available upon request for groups of 11 or for a $50 linen fee for groups less than 11, at least 8 days before check in) allows a maximum of 11 guests to enjoy the premises. We also cater for families with infants, with a cot (fitted with linen) present in one of the Queen bedrooms. For guests without ensuites, a central feature bathroom is available, with large open shower and free-standing bath.

    A spacious, covered deck (with charcoal grill) offers all-weather outdoor entertaining, with unobstructed views of Mount Solitary and surrounding valley-land. A second vantage platform sits near the escarpment edge, for closer views and deeper immersion in the fresh Blue Mountain air.

    Please ensure that all guests (including children and infants) are entered into your booking, so that we can prepare the property and bedding to your needs. A fair use fee is charged for guests more than 8, which covers costs of extra cleaning/maintenance and linen/towels/supplies usage, which helps us to keep costs lower for smaller groups. This fee will be automatically added during booking. We will prepare linen and beds for only the listed number of guests, so please ensure to inform us of all guests attending.

We all loved staying here and enjoyed our time. Check-in and check-out were both easy. This modern, well designed house was in a great location, close enough to Leura, with a lovely view looking out onto the mountains — perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset reflecting off the mountains. Being 5 adults, there were 4 great bedrooms, but someone lucked out on pulling the short straw for the small bunk bed room, although all were very good, 2 having their own ensuites. The central heating kept us all very warm. The kitchen was well laid out and the living and lounge areas gave us plenty of space to relax together. We missed a few little things we assumed would be there, e.g. pepper, tea and a spatula. The kitchen, although great, does have temperamental drawers and cupboards. Although the dishwasher didn't work, the owners were extremely prompt in responding and apologised with the intention to fix it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

House was very comfortable with plenty of amenities, eg baby cot, several portable fans, heating, full kitchen with utensils, etc. Easy check in. Responsive host. Things that didn't do well.... Charcoal bbq pit was not cleaned after previous use. Had to spend 45 mins clearing all the ashes below. After cleaning and fire started, temp would not go above 350F. Ended up not useable to bbq any meat. Kitchen Hood although useable, has some buttons missing and doesn't ventilate effectively. Smart TV is slow and the remote is cranky. Could do with some upgrades.

The property is well situated with lovely valley views. The kitchen was well appointed but we all thought the cupboards needed door handles as the current system is very annoying. Check in was easy and communication with host accurate and efficient. We would suggest making it more obvious that the fifth bedroom is a bunk room. This was not made clear enough in the icons describing the sleep configuration

This is a fabulous property with a fantastic view. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bedrooms are great and the bathrooms are wow! The heating worked well and kept us all toasty warm. Booked House for a family get together in December 2025. House is a great size. It is well appointed with great amenities. Two ensuite bedrooms and a 3rd bathroom makes it great for a large group. View from back deck spectacular. Host was very friendly and easy to contact. Our family loved the house, location and being well positioned between both Leura and Katoomba. Hard to fault. Would definitely recommend.

Very large house perfect for a big group with spacious bedrooms. 7 adults and 2 children comfortably stayed here. There are great walks everywhere in the Blue Mountains, with good walks close by this house, I would recommend staying here. My only feedback is that they should provide some basics like tea bags and sugar, and maybe a handful of coffee capsules.

A great house for a big family

Mt Solitary House is as advertised. It is large, well equipped, warm, and comfortable. The view of Mt Solitary is extraordinary. The street is very quiet, no traffic. Highly recommended. We will be back.
