I was concerned that it might feel really tight with 6 adults - and it probably would have for a longer stay, but for a quick overnight or a longer stay for a family with kids (who would enjoy the small playground), it's great. "The setting could not have been more gorgeous at this house, set along a lovely fjord with crystal blue ocean waters. We spent hours relaxing in the Icelandic "hot pot" (hot tub) in the rear of the property, soaking muscles and clearing our minds. (Unfortunately we were not as lucky as other reviewers and did not see any whales, but we did spot a seal near the local harbor.)The house was clean and spacious, easily big enough for 4-5 people. Owner Thomas emailed us a very helpful, 30-page guide to the house and surrounding region, with advice on local attractions. If you like to kayak, I'd recommend checking out Cape Tours, which is based a block away, and whale-watching in Hauganes, directly across the harbor.Grenivik is a bit out of the way. It's about a half-hour's drive from Akureyri and adds that much more time to trips to Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Husavik. etc. But to us, it was worth it to enjoy the beauty and isolation. We loved our stay."

"Excellent property. It had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. The views were amazing. Make sure to bring binoculars as you can see whales most days at the other side of the fjord. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights as well. Hot pot was amazing. The bluetooth sound system was excellent and easy to connect to. Akureyri is around 20 minutes drive away. Highly recommended."

Amazingly, we quickly established rapport thru common interests, common travel experiences, etc. We must have visited with them for 20 min before heading to our room. The next morning, they were not immediately on duty, but when we left about 9:30AM or so, they made a special trip out to the parking lot to see us off. This property is a very neat, clean property, and we felt like honored guests by the end!"
