About this property
Stunning Soulful Rustic Retreat in acres of native bushland. Pet friendly
The expansive Craftsman built stone, mudbrick and timber homestead is set against natural bush surrounds. Architect-designed with a Mezzanine level and a huge fireplace.
A pebbled driveway winds its way to the striking, two-storey homestead showcasing extraordinary 100 year-old recycled timbers gathered for years from around Australia including the Victorian Racing Club in Queen Street, the Old Briagolong Bridge in Sale, wool stores in Port Melbourne, Williamstown, and Fremantle.
The stone was collected and individually hand-picked from the Coldstream Quarry with many unique fossil imprints. The wonderful and unique front doors are antique and salvaged from an old city bank. *Rustic Alpine / fishing lodge Vibes* Enjoy the warmth and wonder. Cosy kitchen with new oven. Native animals thrive on and around the property; Grey kangaroos visit daily to feed, wombats live happily in burrows & many diverse beautiful birds surround you. Soothe your soul and stay in one of the 3 bedrooms or sleep in front of the fire in the fold-out comfy sofa bed! You and your family/ friends will love the stunning panoramic views of the Cathedral ranges from the front porch, surrounded by tall gums. The sunrises and sunsets here are magical. There is a portable BBQ under the front porch, so you can enjoy wonderful Alfresco meals. *Please kindly clean BBQ after and turn gas bottle off. The host was most welcoming. The accomadtion perfect. The beautiful views amazing. All we required available. The family relaxed and enjoyed.Easy access to nearby townships. We have been staying in the area for over 20 years and our expections were exceeded.Thankyou for a wonderful stay and relaxing vacation.
We had a great weekend here, beautiful rustic cabin surrounded by amazing bush, full of animals. Very dog friendly which was great. Will definetly be coming back.
We had an unforgettable stay here. From the moment we arrived, we felt at peace, surrounded by nature and the warmth of this beautiful home. The craftsmanship and character of the house are truly special.
Waking up to stunning views and birdsong each morning was magical. We spent our days exploring, relaxing, and enjoying quality family time. Our little one loved every moment, and our dog had a great time too, with plenty of space to roam.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful space with us. We leave with full hearts and cherished memories, hoping to return one day.
Beautiful views of cathedral Ranges. Lovely and comfortable chalet style home with everything we needed. Loved sitting by the fire watching the scenery change. Location is so peaceful with lots of nature around. We were happy to just chill each day there. Close to Cathedral Ridge hike. Would recommend only doing North ridge circuit if not experienced but worth the views. Host is great and provided everything needed.
Perfect break from the city and commitments. We loved the peace and quiet, the location and the house. It had everything we needed! Fabulous communication from the host too.
Great host, communication and hospitality.A solid house made of stone bricks and wood, with antique fittings that are truly impressive. A must-see for anyone interested in architecture. The separate game room offers plenty of space and features a ping-pong table—enough entertainment without even leaving the property. What moved us the most was the vastness of the grounds and the stunning scenery. Be sure to wake up before sunrise and watch as the colors of the landscape gradually change. We were especially lucky to visit during the autumn foliage season. There’s even a hiking trail up the hill behind the house—just a 15-minute walk. It’s a great attraction in itself, even without going anywhere else. The cleanliness, well-equipped facilities, and thoughtful amenities are at a level that would satisfy even hotel lovers.Highly recommended for those who enjoy river fishing and hiking.
