"We had a wonderful stay at Carmel Cumbuco Resort and would highly recommend it. The resort itself is beautiful, with spacious and well-appointed rooms — the only minor suggestion we would make is to add a chair to the room, which would make it even more comfortable. The real highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional service from the staff. Carol and Joaquim in the café and restaurant were warm, attentive and a pleasure to interact with throughout our stay. Special mention must go to Vinicius at the bar, who went above and beyond to look after us and truly elevated our experience. It is rare to encounter service at this level and it made all the difference. Thank you to the whole team at Carmel Cumbuco — we hope to be back!"

"As a tourism hotel I would expect that the staff speak some English.. however there was only ONE person who works here that speaks English, and she was almost never around. There was a lot of confusion and misinformation due to lack of communication. I understand I’m in a non English speaking country but at a hotel in this scale it’s not acceptable that NO ONE speaks English. It’s not really worth the price seeing how disorganized everything is there. One of the staff members made me cry because he was trying to force me to pay for something I told him that I no longer was interested in. At the end he apologized and I didn’t get charged, but it did ruin my afternoon. I only had dinner once at the hotel since my first meal was really bad. The fish seemed frozen, I didn’t eat any of it yet the still charged me, which I thought was crazy. An upscale establishment should have taken my meal off the bill. I also got sick from one of their shrimp snacks at the pool. There was an alarming amount of red ants in my room. The shower was designed poorly, and I almost slipped and fell at every use. There’s so much wood in the bathroom, which also wasn’t a smart idea because I can see it getting gross real fast. The shower curtain was full of stains. The spa treatment I wanted to get, I was told they didn’t offer it….?? The bed was very comfortable. Stunning views from room. I will say the place is stunning and the beach is beautiful. Very enjoyable to look at the kite surfers! "

"Very tranquil peaceful stay. The view is great, the pool is refreshing, and the caretaker is wonderful. I would recommend this place if you need to recharge and slow down. The town is not far, for great restaurants and more action if that is what you are looking for. "
