"Absolutely exquisite stay! Everything was perfection - from the check in with green tea, to the delicious Japanese style breakfast, to the friendly and attentive staff. This stay comes with so many extra amenities such as free yamata rental, complimentary sake, public baths etc. Also excellently located close to the station. We felt relaxed and at home our whole stay. It was genuinely one of our favourite stays in the whole of Japan. Special shout out to Karen who went over and above to help me try and get through to my airline to change a flight! "

"This is a very lovely hotel in downtown Takayama. We were staying here for one night coming from Kusatsu. We had some issues with the GPS so were going to be late for dinner, we called them and they said they would hold dinner for us no issues. We had the Hida beef dinner which was fantastic. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic. The room had a nice view of the river and we left the door open all night without any noise. Most of the town closes down at 6pm but opens back up at 8am. The beds were very uncomfortable so glad we only stayed one night. The staff was very friendly. They helped us pick out our yukatas and gave us beautiful tabi socks as a souvenir. "
