"We stayed in their sister hotel next door 10+ years ago. When this place csme up in our search we jumped on it. First the bad. Public área carpet and seats had stains on them. Our third floor room facing the street above the entrance had a lot of road noice and from people entering. The spa and pools needs upkeep and refreshing. On our last day a large group of tourist were loud and drunk and our room ac developed a ticking noice. However I would recomend this place. I got an excellent deal with the spa included, went to it everyday for a few hours. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. The typical American fare and Estonian touches. I told my wife I cant stay in American hotels because I am leaning to more vegetarian options. They also had ice cream for the kids like me. The room and property were very clean. The exception noted previously. I.am glad we got to experienced it and would go back again."
"I recently stayed at Original Sokos Hotel Viru and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is well located, the room was comfortable, and the staff I interacted with were generally friendly.
However, the check-in experience left a sour taste. I arrived at approximately 1:15 p.m. and was told that my room was already ready. Despite the room being available, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional €15 to access it before the official 3:00 p.m. check-in time.
Rather than pay the fee, I waited in the lobby with my wife, a 3-year-old child, a 6-month-old infant, and our luggage. At approximately 2:00 p.m., I approached the desk again and a different employee checked us in immediately at no charge.
This made the policy feel arbitrary and inconsistent. If a room is ready and available, especially for a family travelling with young children, charging an extra fee simply to access an already-prepared room creates a poor first impression. The fact that I was later checked in for free only added to the confusion.
I understand hotels have published check-in times, but when a room is sitting ready and vacant, a more customer-focused approach would go a long way.
Overall, a good hotel, but the handling of the early check-in situation was disappointing and unnecessary."
Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel Tallinn
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is such a great value for its location and amenities! We had so much fun at the sauna and aqua center. Our room was also clean and spacious."
"Our room was large with an excellent view towards 'Old Town'. The staff responded quickly to a couple of requests for service. The breakfast is EXCELLENT, with a full range of choices. We did a 'couples massage' that included lunch on the top floor, with a wonderful view of the harbour."
