This place I have ever stayed the sunsets the view of the mountains are beautiful. The house was in perfect condition you couldn’t ask for anything else. All I can say is that this place is paradise. Thank you for all you did to make our stay the best.
The views at Villagio Musca were amazing. The home is stunning. There is plenty of room for us and our guests to spread out enjoy our vacation. Crissy and her team met us upon arrival and was very nice and accommodating throughout our stay. The team helped us with our bags and got everyone settled in. They even gave us a couple of little unexpected gifts and surprises upon arrival. We are looking forward to coming back to this home and staying in the future. Thanks again!
A group of us traveling from all over the US but predominantly Alaska came down to Tamarindo for the first time and it did not disappoint! The Casa Barritz is stunning. Extremely clean with unparallel views- it was the perfect setting for our vacation. The only caveat is the driveway-if you are visiting-be sure to get 4 wheel drive and have a sense of adventure. We loved the challenge and got our steps in daily in this mountain nestled oasis. The property management team was fantastic-every single one of them were attentive and helpful and kind. It was such an amazing trip and I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling in a big group-you had your own space but were still together. We would come back in a heart beat!
We really enjoyed our stay at this fabulous home in the hills above Tamarindo. The views and the home itself, were outstanding.
We were one of the first to stay and the home is very well equipped with everything needed during our stay. It is also away from the touristy areas, and quiet but only a 5 minute drive to Tamarindo. There is a lot of construction currently in the development, 7-6 each day.
The location is great, very secure in a first-class gated community with guards who patrol. The property is convenient to an amazing grocery store for all your food and beverage needs.
A few things to know about the property: being situated on the side of the mountain getting into and out of the home requires a series of ramps to get you, your guests and belongings to the main house. There are two individual villas above and those are all steps. Also the driveway - we were there in late rainy season so it was wet, and steep and has a sharp turn mid way up. You will need a full time four wheel drive.
Last, we were disappointed not to be able to use the two upper villas as the airconditioning was not working and the pools up there were not operational. 2-3 couples can fit comfortably in the main house, but we really wanted to spread out a bit for more privacy. Just confirm with the manager that all is operational. The laundry facility was just okay for small loads. The concierge and manager were very good communicators and helped make our stay great!

The house is amazing but its not for everyone.
This is one of the most spectacular homes you will ever see. The architecture, engineering, views and location are jaw dropping. But with that comes some major drawbacks.
The driveway is so steep that our van could not make it up, so we had to hire a cab to carry our bags and my parents (in their 70's) to the main parking. Then it is another 50' up to the main house via a series of ramps (with luggage in tow). Then it is another 91 vertical steps up to the top bedroom. None of this is a big deal if you are young, in shape, sober and not carrying luggage. There are also some trip hazards in close proximity to 50' drops. The living room only has one couch in it, we had to carry chairs from around the property just so 6 people could sit in the living room together. The house is well stocked with everything you would need and is in close proximity to a nice grocery store. The birds and wildlife around the house really add to the overall mystic of this place.
We did have 2 kids with us (10 and 12) and they were fine but I would not be comfortable with a child younger than 6 at this house.
Personally, I loved the house but it is not for everyone. The ideal group would be middle aged couples that don't drink too much and are all driving their own 4 wheel drives.
The pictures on VRBO look amazing. The house hangs over a cliff and has great views of the beautiful Playa Grande. Unfortunately the pictures and description do not accurately reflect that the house is located at the top of an intense incline driveway with a pin turn that is almost impossible to navigate. Once you actually make it up the driveway (not passable in a golf cart….need a 4X4) you then must hike up steep ramps that require one to be in good shape to climb to the house. Then if you want to use the entire house you have more climbing to do……Better be in shape to rent this house.
When we arrived nobody was there to assist us. The house manager who was 4 hours away and was not responsive. The conceirge tried to help but she was also quite unavailable and not helpful. The house had many defects including a broken stove, flooding from their AC unit in one of the upper homes, toilets did not flush properly and the WI-FI broke down and was not fixed. The house did not have a washer and dryer that we were allowed to use.
So bottom line…..nice house assuming you can navigate the steep driveway incline and ramps. Do not go if you are elderly or need assistance. The local resources that were supposed to be there to help us made the stay less pleasant.

When we arrived nobody was there to assist us. The house manager, Sebastian, who was 4 hours away is a French man and was not responsive. He actually was rude and incapable to translating English. NO BUENO at all. The conceirge, Melissa tried to help but she was also quite unavailable and was difficult to communicate with. Plenty of incompetence and lack of hospitality.
