Creative, custom woodwork. Easy to access, self check-in. Nice shower and bathroom.
It's off the beaten path, gravel roads, but Google maps got us there.
Nice breakfast choices.
If its really windy, its noisy, slightly breezy inside but well screened for insects. Good fan but no AC.
In the morning, we saw some great birds and could hear howler monkey in the distance.
Overall a very nice place.
Wonderful stay but just remember when you are out more in the woods you will get more bugs. A few were inside but mostly well protected. Roads a little bumpy coming in.
I guess we wished that when searching this listing that you mentioned about bugs and the potential to have them in with you. I’m not sure if you are aloud to do pest control but if we were there without grasshopper, ant colonies and various other insects, that are quite large and frightening, than our experience would have been better
1.Poor Service - Left WaitingWe were given the wrong access code and left outside for over an hour before the host responded. No effort was made to make up for the inconvenience.2. Bug InfestationThe screened door has large gaps above and below, allowing bugs to enter easily. With no bed net, we woke up to about 15 large grasshoppers and a 4-inch praying mantis on the ceiling. One - fleeing from the mantis - jumped into the bed, and that was it—we left about 3 hours after arrival.3. Poor Service - Dismissive HostWhen we requested a refund, the host was dismissive and denied it. Instead of understanding, we got a laughing emoji and “it’s not a big deal.” We had to go through VRBO’s refund process, which was a frustrating waste of holiday. Bugs in the bed is a big deal. If your partner tells you she wants to leave your VRBO because she doesn’t feel safe about what else might crawl under the door and into your bed, is a refund a reasonable thing to ask for? We paid as much as a hotel?4. Lack of PrivacyThe listing images suggest seclusion, but the “King” unit is right below, and the walls are permeable. You end up with less privacy than a typical hotel.5. Misleading “Continental Breakfast”The listing and website implied free breakfast, but it’s actually 40-50 for two—for eggs—delivered from a café 26 minutes away. Conclusion: Bad TimeThis place failed to meet multiple expectations, and the host was disrespectful. Not worth the price or hassle.
