I stayed at Tanna Lodge for just one night. The Lodge is about 20 mins from the airport with pick up! I had an ocean view villa looking straight out on a black sand beach. The accomodation was expensive for a lone traveller costing 170 $AUD. However the villa i stayed in consisted of a kingsize bed and also a single bed, so if there were a few sharing it works out alot cheaper. The Villa was nice and clean and with toilet and open top outside shower. There was mosquito coils and mortein spray in the villa which i thought was great because mosquitos have a feast on me, in saying that i didnt find any inside! There was a nice pool also ! Free wifi around bar and restaurant. I had lunch there- sandwich and chips for roughly 1000V which was reasonable, other things also available. For dinner i booked a meal in before i left on my volcano tour, it was the cheapest meal at 2000V with others costing onwards to 2700V. The portion was big and filling! I done my volcano tour with the owners kid Ned, luckily for me i was the only one doin the tour that day. It was roughly 90 mins to the volcano . Ned is such a nice guy, We hit it off straight away. All the way to the volcano Ned stoped where ever i wanted to take pictures allowing me to interact with friendly kids and local people.
We arrived at the volcano at sunset, just in time to see it with natural light just before its darkend and the fireworks display was unleashed. Great experience allround
