AVOID this hotel. We paid for a suite however got a small room with dirty carpet and old mattres!!! They refused to change room after we discovered bed bugs had bit us. Breakfast has nothing at all some dry things.. At the end we did not go there since it was so bad.. A Rude woman in reception without any education or customer service skills. The hotel has gone down and stall be avoided at all costs.

Hotel Antonius is in Tartu’s very much older part of town, right across the street from one of the university’s main buildings, which houses the university’s art gallery…..and it’s worth a visit. The hotel is excellent. Outstanding staff at every level of guest interaction. An excellent restaurant and the hotel’s breakfast is everything you could ask for.

we travel from the US often and this is one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Clean, quiet, great staff, best restaurant in town downstairs. No reason to not book here. we will stay here next time. We are in town.

Really nice hotel, in the Center of Tartu. Not typical design - if you like orginal places, history - it is a place for you! Good Interenet connection, place for work.

Amazing hotel. Most beautiful rooms ever for that price better than most 5 Starr hotels! The view wasn't gorgeous but it was AMAZING!! Food was delicious. Restaurant personal were ok. Reception personal extreme friendly and helpful!! Everything was so good tho! Nice people and great town nearby! Definitely visit this hotel if your coming to Tartu! The best hotel in Tartu!

Much like the town around it, the building is old, but well maintained, and brings with it an old-style charm. Our room on the top floor was spacious. The view was looking out over the snowy rooftop and neighboring buildings. We were only there for one night, so had limited time to discover the neighborhood. The hotel is conveniently located near the University of Tartu where our daughter was attending for the semester. We visited near Christmas, and the local Christmas market was a short walk away. Be ready for walking in the snow during winter, as there will be lots of it. Our interaction with the staff was pleasant. We ordered room service for dinner since we were too tired from traveling to venture out. But the included breakfast would turn out to be one of the highlights of our trip. There is a buffet which includes a selection from their menu prepared on request. The poached egg with smoked salmon was delicious. My wife regretted not ordering the same, although her pancakes (crepes) weren't bad either.

Love everything about this place: the quirky rooms (at least on the top floor), the great decor, excellent breakfast, superb service...only issue is that their AC didn't work as well at it should, we couldn't control the room temperature as well as we would've liked -- but they gave us fans and lighter sheets (upon request), which solved the problem.

High expectations, issues in delivery
Previous stay at Antonius was impeccable so expectations were high. This time we had deluxe room,last time suite. Service was smooth, not especially attentive. Room was spacious and beautiful but at some places worn. Other reading lamp was not working neither the electronic plug for telly. We changed to another plug and it worked. Bathroom was huge and so was bathing tube. However shower curtain was outdated and somehow the whole bathroom felt too worn out. Breakfast was excellent but it would be nice to have the waitress to ask for a la carte wish soon after we arrive. Now we had to wait for quite a while. Still all in all this is beautiful hotel. I wish I was asked at the end of our stay how our stay was.

We stayed in the smallest (and cheapest) room, room decoration and furniture need renovation. Not very clean. Bad shower construction. Good service and central location!

A Perfect Choice for Tartu
I totally enjoyed my stay at the Antonius. First off, I LOVED my room. It was located on the top floor under the dormers. Next, the hotel itself was beautiful. It is in a historic building and the decor appropriately reflects that fact. It has a great ambiance. Finally, the location of the hotel is great. It is located directly across from the main building of the University of Tartu and only a very short walk from the Town Hall Square. Street noise was never an issue. To me, the only area for improvement would be its included breakfast buffet. Don't get me wrong. There was nothing wrong with it. It was just nothing special.
