Top Tauber Valley Hotel Reviews

Hotel Eisenhut
10/10 Excellent
"I don’t understand the bad reviews of this 650 year old hotel. It is a rabbit warren of delights. Our room, 357, was maybe one of the biggest, best rooms we’ve ever had. It has an amazing bed with soft linens, adequate power outlets, a mini fridge, safe, a HUGE bathroom, and double doors that open to some spectacular views of the valley. It is perfectly located in the center of Rothenburg with a delicious restaurant and one of the better open terrace bars in the city. This hotel is truly an historic gem. The parking lot is a bonus because most cars need to park outside the city walls. But it is a short, 6min picturesque walk back to the hotel. And it passes one of our favorite breakfast spots: Lebenslust. Their Eggs Benedict is so wonderful we went two mornings in a row. Also don’t miss the Night Watchman’s Tour. A fantastic way to learn the history of the city in a fun way. The English tour runs nightly in front of the main square for €9pp. The front desk staff at Hotel Eisenhut were friendly, patient, and very helpful with all of our questions. Notes: There is an elevator, but no bell service. The elevator is small. Enough for two adults and two bags. The Bidet water needed to be opened before use. (We didn’t use it). Water pressure was SIGNIFICANT. Hallways and staircases are creaky. But we never heard another guest from our room. We absolutely enjoyed every cobble stone of this city and will enthusiastically recommend it to anyone interested in visiting."

Gasthof Hotel Bezold
10/10 Excellent
"These accommodations were excellent. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The guest house has been recently updated, and the room was spacious. The location was easy to get to just outside of the city wall but within easy walking distance of the city center. Breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend it!!"

Villa Mittermeier Hotellerie & Restaurant

"The hotel is very clean a the staff are friendly. The breakfast is very good but expensive."

Romantik Hotel Markusturm
10/10 Excellent
"A very charming hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We stayed three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. There were many shops and restaurants in the village which made it even more special. The hotel does offer breakfast which was very good. There was a bakery across the street that had great pastries and all kinds of coffee to choose from. Great hotel and would highly recommend it."

Prinzhotel Rothenburg

"Didn't have breakfast here. "

Hotel zum Breiterle - Self-Check-In
2/10 Terrible
"Getting into the hotel was an absolute nightmare because it requires online check-in to obtain an access code. Never in my worldwide travels have I encountered a hotel without a receptionist or an attendant. No elevator to access upper floors but a very squeaky winding staircase that is unsafe to descent on with a large and heavy suitcase. Ergo, left mine in car.
Breakfast wasn't available after 8:15 am because all other guests had departed.
Room was clean without typical amenities.
In other words, the most miserable place I ever encountered in one of the most beautiful places in Germany. Please don't offer this facity to American travelers. "

Hotel Goldener Hirsch

"I can only say. Well done. I will surely be back"

AKZENT Hotel Schranne
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was very helpful and accommodating; giving us directions and booking a taxi for us when we needed it.
We had dinner at the hotel and it was very delicious. I would recommend eating there. The hotel is situated near the town wall and a very easy walk to the town square."
