Absolutely fabulous home!

We absolutely loved this property! We loved the location right on the beach, to die for sunsets, and great location to everything we wanted to do while in Costa Rica. The owner was very responsive and helpful prior to our arrival and Thomas and Janet were a pleasure to work with while there. We had several meals prepared by them and it was so good! Thank you!

Villa Corazon Del Mar

Excellent vacation. The Villa and property were well maintained. Private security guard made us feel safe. Tomas cooked several excellent meals snd Janet have very good massages. Derwin was great arranging all transports and excursions. Chip worked out great with the golf cart rentals. Great private location. Jimmy was also fantastic very dependable.

Amazing Vacation!!

We had an amazing time visiting Costa Rica and staying at this lovely home. Greg and McKenzie were super responsive and helpful...really great to work with! The house is beautiful and it was amazing to be right on the beach and have a pool. The service providers they use are fantastic! We loved utilizing Janet's spa services and she was very professional. Tomas's food was very good. Alexandra at LEP and Chip at golf cart rentals both went above and beyond to help us and ensure we had the best experience possible. We would definitely like to go back again!

Great House for our Large Group!

This was the perfect house for our group of 13. The house has 9 bedrooms so we had plenty of room. The downstairs kitchen/dining/living area is open and roomy. The kitchen is very well equipped. The highlight is the patio with swimming pool that opens up onto the beach. just spectacular. the pool cabana has a bar, ice maker, and gas grill. We spent most of our time enjoying this beautiful space. daily walks on the beach.The location of the house is great, as well. very close to stores and restaurants as well as other beaches. we rented golf carts to get around. never needed a car.house staff was great. daily cleaning of the house and patio/pool area. very friendly staff.the owners were also great to work with. they answered all of our questions via email prior to our trip so there were no surprises. they also hooked us up with companies to book the golf cart rentals, airport transportation, excursions, etc. They have really assembled a great team to make your vacation easy and memorable.We highly recommend this house for large groups that are looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting.

Great Stay

I stayed at this property a total of five nights. There were 15 of us, ranging from 1 year old-64 years old. We had an great stay! You can tell the house went through a total renovation recently, and is very modern and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also very clean. We had chef services three times, all fantastic food. The chefs come on time and get straight to work as well as the cleaning staff. Jimmy, the property manager was our main source of contact. He was very responsive and quick to answer any questions or resolve any issues and that is the best you can ask for. The owners were very responsive as well. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend. And might I add what a beautiful location right on the beach. The house is located walking distance to restaurants. I would suggest renting a car or golf cart for easy transportation because the roads in the neighborhood are very uneven and rocky.

This house is incredible…my favorite vacation spot ever. We liked it so much that we will be reserving again in 2023 (but I will not say when so the date stays open😊). Greg and MacKenzie are wonderful owners….very engaged and helpful before, during, and even after our trip. Tomas and Janet are so nice and we’re always there for us. Be sure to ask Tomas to prepare meals for you…muy delicioso! The area is spectacular, but the house itself is by far the best part. Pool is amazing and literally right on the beach. Steps away from a very calm ocean, and the sunsets are the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Mix in a sunset cruise with Dervin, golf cart rentals from Jennifer and Chip (definitely do this), cows wandering around the beach and drinking from our pool (you read that correctly!!)… just can’t say enough about this house, these people and this area. Book it now

Hi Joan,We are finally settling back to reality after a wonderful week at Corazon del Mar. We wanted to thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home. It was the perfect house for a group of 13 to enjoy and experience the many splendors of Costa Rica. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation, from lounging at the pool, walking the beach, watching the sunsets, dining at the Castillo Bakery to amazing excursions like the Congo Trail Zip Line, the Lazy Lizard Sunset Cruise and the Palo Verde River Cruise where we were able to feed the white faced monkeys (shhh.. this is a big secret!). Please thank Thomas and Janet as they were wonderful hosts, never invasive but always there when you need them. They are fabulous cooks! Thomas makes the best guacamole, which he was kind enough to teach us to make ourselves. The meals they prepared were so delicious! Thank you also Winston for being our taxi to the SuperMarket! We stayed here about a month ago. It is fantastic......beyond words. I don't think you can find a better place to stay! Tomas and Janet are wonderful!!! Tomas makes you feel so safe and secure. You walk out the back door to the pool, and walk another fifty steps and you are at the ocean. It is quite, peaceful, and the most beautful place I have been. I can hardly wait to go back. I have recommended this villa to several people. Tomas and Janet will help you plan your adventures, and even arrange them for you. My husband and I went with my sister, my son, my daughter-in-law and my granddaughter. The place was so big you never got in each other's way. Each room has its own bath, and the kitchen bar is gigantic!!! My only advice is to find the grocery store called Masai. It is very close to the villa, and has a much bigger selection, as well as being much cheaper than the Surfside Market or Wendys. Also, the owner is fantastic to work with, and will answer all your emails promptly. She was very helpful when we were getting ready to go and I had questions about the villa or the area. You can not find nicer people to work with than Joan, Tomas, and Janet. If you have never booked a villa online before and are worried, don't be. This is everything advertised and more!

Family Beach Trip

My family of 16, ages 7-80, enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house and grounds are beautiful, spacious and well cared for. When we had issues Jimmy was there to help. The beach is quiet, which we appreciate, and we loved being able to walk to a few restaurants nearby. All around wonderful experience had by everyone in our group.

Family birthday celebration

We were celebrating my wife’s milestone birthdate. The property was amazing and easily accommodates large groups. The 9 bedrooms were spacious with nicely appointed bathrooms. The large dining room fit our group of 14. I would highly recommend getting some meals prepared at the house by their in house staff. Ana was great getting our airport transfers even though there were multiple flight delays. She also set up our excursions- horse back riding, fishing, private sunset catamaran cruise, ATV . Jimmy the property was also awesome and very responsive. I would also recommend renting golf carts from Chip & Jennifer who couldn’t be any nicer. The owners Greg and MacKenzie were very responsive and easy to deal with. This property is one of a kind in a beautiful setting. An excellent family vacation

The property was in an excellent location and the pictures accurately represent the home and location. The service provided by the host, property manager, and others such as the pool service, housekeeper, and security were also great. Each person was personable and offered prompt replies to our communications. This all set the ground for a fabulous vacation for the 12 of us. We took our kids and grandkids and I can say every person, ages 2 through 76, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The host, Mackenzie, went beyond to make sure our needs were met andmade perfect referrals such as for tours and transportation with Yellow Fin. Without hesitation we would go back again and will recommend this host and property to others. By the way, we had the personal chef for several meals and we were impressed with their skills and delighted with the food they served - fun and delicious!

An amazing vacation!!!

Beautiful and spacious! The pictures do not do it justice. Everyone was amazing to work with. Eleven of us stay at the property in July to celebrate my birthday. I worked with Melanie for weeks before my stay to plan events for my guest. When we arrived Jimmy was there to let us in and walk us through the extremely spacious villa. When we had last minute request Jimmy was a quick call away to resolve issue. In addition to event planning I worked with Melanie daily for additional groceries and last minute chef request. Whatever we needed, she was a text away. Thank you to Melanie, Jimmy, the Chef, sous chef and housecleaner for taking great care of us!!!! Pure vida, indeed ❤️❤️

Incredible stay by the ocean

I was blessed to be able to spend my 50th birthday at this property. We had such a wonderful time, and watching the sunsets every night from the house was magical. The location was perfect with many wonderful places to eat only a short walk away. The team at the house was spectacular making us feel very cared for. A huge shout out to Tomas, Janet and Juan Carlos. Make sure you get a massage from Janet. She had magical hands. Jimmy our chef, fed us beautiful breakfasts every morning. We could not ask for a thing more. My only complaint was the obnoxious security light in the back area. I realize it’s there for a reason but it would be nice to be able to turn it off. It obscures the view of the night sky and stars and shines into the bedroom on that side making it hard to sleep. Other than that, no complaints.

Family Vacation

The property is in an amazing location. There were 11 in our party. 6 adults, 2- 9 year old's, 2- 6 year old's and a 19 month old. The kids had a blast at the beach, especially in the morning during low tide. Body surfing was great. It is also a short beach walk into town, which has a very good selection of restaurants. There are also several beaches in the area, that are worth visiting. The pool is as advertised and is refreshing. There are jets for a hot tub experience but we did not find how to turn on heat, if it was available. There are ample outdoor showers to wash away the sand., and ample beach towels. The property is worn and dated. The 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and AC in the bedrooms worked well. All bedrooms have king sized beds. The 5th upstairs bedroom is musty and dark and I would rate not that great. In a way the worn and dated was a pro as we had 5 children in our group. Tomas and his wife Janet do a great job cleaning the property. They were there daily. The kitchen is well stocked. We did a chef night twice and that worked out well. We would do that again. A fan blade on one of the porch fans broke off and flew across the patio.. Had one of my grandchildren been around when it happened, it could have been tragic. We left the fans off the the remainder of the stay. It also made us uneasy to use any of the interior fans. No inspection was done. Most of the lights in the fans are out and were not addressed during our stay. So the interior light is adequate but not great. If you are going to rent a golf cart don't wait. There is limited availability. If you rent a golf cart, there is also new marina near by to visit. There is also Uber service and taxi service in the area. My daughter and her husband and two children took Spanish lessons. There is a school nearby and runs from 8 until noon. It is very family friendly and they were very positive about the experience. The hosts directed us to Dervin and he handled all of our tours through his company, Yellowfin. He was outstanding and also managed some of our transportation. He is reliable, dependable, and his tour pricing seems fair compared to the prices posted on web sites. Jimmy, also directed to us by the hosts took care of our chef meals and follows up with Tomas on repairs, like the screens on the doors, that were ripped when we arrived. Jimmy will also pre shop your groceries.. We found that beneficial and one less thing we did not need to do when we arrived.

Great Home, Great Location

My husband, children, in-laws and I (11 in all) had a wonderful time. The home was perfect for our needs, and the on-site caretakers, Tomas and Janet, were wonderful. The location is beautiful--right on the beach, which provided many hours of enjoyment, along with the excellent swimming pool. Plenty of things to do nearby, along with very good restaurants. We would do it again anytime. We are not newbies to Costa Rica by any means, but this has been our favorite property and location so far. LM

Large villa on beach with pool

Property was easy to rent. Eleven family members traveled from OR & WA in August 2022. The kids loved the pool & beach. Adults loved the views & easy access to bogey boarding. Restaurants nearby. Yellowfin provided 4 excursions & shuttle from & to airport. Would recommend their hospitality. Housekeeping was provided by Janet. Used Tomas to cook 2 meals. Chicken fajitas were tasty. Cows, birds, iguanas, lizards, a large black witch moth, friendly dogs & dragon flies kept us company in the patio. Distant Holler monkey screams early in the morning made us feel we were really in a tropical paradise. Sounds of surf crashing at times in front bedrooms will be missed. Weather was warm at times with occasional rain. Gelato at Porto Potrero was the best as well as Soda Marsell. Playa Potrero has some yummy reasonable restaurants - Gritanga & The Shack. Overall, we loved our stay at casa Corazon Del Mar. Sorry to hear home may add a 3rd story in March making this rental too large for our family needs. If you want a pool & almost a private beach, this is the place to go.

Simply Perfect…Puravida!!

We stayed here for our annual family vacation. Our blended family of 10…myself and my husband and children ranging from 24-14. The house was perfect for our group. The pool and just a few steps walk to the beach were incredible. And Tomas and Janet were fantastic. Perfect Relaxing Vacation House!

This a wonderful property with an amazing setup with the pool in the back that is only steps away from the ocean! The sunsets are truly amazing as everyone else has commented. And while the furnishings themselves are starting to show some age, Janet and Tomas take really good care of it - and the guests while there! The location is perfect with restaurants nearby : we loved Hemingways, Las Brisas, and La Forkette. But don’t pass up the chance to have Tomas make dinner for your group while there - it was delicious! My husband absolutely loved his massage from Janet as well. The bedrooms are situated so that each couple (we had three couples) had privacy, and we had a huge table to eat and play cards as well as a great kitchen. I really appreciated that there were tissues in the house - rare for a rental, as well as plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. Janet cleaned each day so towels were always clean too! Chip was very informative and supplied us with our golf carts, which let us explore a bit and go to the grocery and restaurants (one of our party recently had knee surgery so he couldn’t walk a lot). The beach is wonderful to walk along and some of us walked every day! We felt spoiled and like we were in paradise!

An incredible place to stay!

My friends and I truly loved this place. When we arrived, Tomas, the house manager, met us in the driveway. He was super nice and gave us a quick tour. He checked on us every day. The house is a great set up for a group. The bedrooms are big and spread apart. They were fairly sound proof as well. Our early birds and night owls didn’t bother each other at all. The house is well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The pool/patio/beach are all nice and fairly private. The sunsets are incredible! The beach is very dog friendly and we occasionally had one stop by to say hi. We loved that! We had a spa day with Tomas’ wife, Janette. She is lovely and gives a great massage. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. They are dog friendly too! I think there is an issue with petty theft in the general area (not worse than any other places I’ve been though) so it was nice the house had a security guard patrolling at night. We felt totally safe and secure. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I can’t think of a single negative thing!
