"Golf course was really nice. Food in restaurants was great. The view from the hotel was beautiful. Staff was very helpful. They have a nice bar."

"We loved this off-grid little house so much! It was perfect for our family, and looked exactly like the pictures. It seemed to have a personal touch and built out of love. It also had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The only issue is that the ranch did not have free showers and the pool was 8 per day per person. It wasn’t a big deal, just different information than what was provided to us. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Pretty rough, toilet would not flush unless assisted by raising tank lid, shower tub ultra slick and very slow to drain, the curtain was see through, cigarette butts scattered outside the door, bedspread was creepy, no shampoo but a tiny bar of soap, light and air leaks at top and bottom of door, only one bug in bath! But, the young lady in the office was very kind and helpful. Absolutely a winner. I do not at all enjoy giving a review like this, but hope it will help the owner. Generally, it seemed that Terlingua is a bit rough in itself."

"My expectations for a non-5 star rustic motel (camping, rv hookup, etc.) at the entrance to a national park in an area not overly developed were not high. The place was clean and well kept. The air conditioner was easy to work and totally necessary in June. The breakfast buffet in the cafe across the highway (we were in the annex across from the main bldg.) was not included but was affordable and very, very good. If it is a slow period and no one is at the counter, just go up and wait a minute for someone to see you. It's worth the wait."

Big Bend Lodging at Ten Bits Ranch | Room #3 (The Gun Shop)

"We loved our little Gun Ship cabin. It was ready for us when we arrived, and even better than we expected. It's off-grid for electricity and water, but we didn't suffer. The A/C worked and plenty of bottled water was provided. There was a TV in the room, but we never turned it on. The kitchen was convenient and well stocked. I cooked twice. This little collection of cabins is in the desert, off the beaten path. Sitting out at night is amazingly quiet--no traffic, no hoard of noisy insects, not even a coyote. We live in the country, but not quiet country like this area. The night skies were amazing. Highly recommend this relaxing getaway! Our dog accompanied us, and we enjoyed walking on the property during the cooler parts of the day. The cabins are on a ridge that narrows and has a trail to the end with views of the mountains and surrounding gorge. It's a short drive to the southeast to visit Big Bend National Park and a short drive to the southwest to visit Big Bend State Park. We had a satisfying steak dinner for our anniversary at the Starlight Theater Restaurant and enjoyed browsing through the Trading Post next door to the restaurant. If you plan to float the river in a canoe or kayak, you may want to check the water levels first. I paid for a trip, but the water levels were very low, which meant carrying the kayak or canoe at least a dozen times. We decided it would be too hard on my husband's back. Wonderful, well-maintained property!"

Big Bend Lodging at Ten Bits Ranch | Room #1 (The Bank)

"Absolutely loved the Ten Bits. The location is very off the beaten path, and rain caused us a bit of a challenge getting in on day one, but our host was very understanding, helped us find a different place to stay for the night, and refunded us for one night no questions asked. After that we got to the Bank and spent the next 3 nights enjoying the area and the ranch. I highly recommend the property and plan to stay again in the future!"
