The Gun Shop (Room #3) is a private hotel room with 1 queen bed, air conditioning, gas log fireplace, WIFI, satellite television, mini refrigerator, microwave and a private bath, all in an old Western town setting.
The Ten Bits Ranch Gun Shop (Room #3) is part of an old West town themed setting. There is a Bank, Schoolhouse, Gun Shop, General Store, Steakhouse, Hattery, Gazette, Courthouse, Saloon, Hotel, Barber Shop, Saddle shop and Jail.
There are several shared fire pits on Ten Bits Ranch, including one near the Gun Shop (Room #3). There is a guest shared Cantina dining area with a full kitchen for your use. Wild West decor made the little village fun. The cantina was well stocked for breakfast and the cabin was clean and comfortable. The 2 mile unpaved road to get there was a bit of a challenge tho.

Fun Experience

Our Stay at Ten Bits was great. The room was comfortable and clean, the group use Cantina was a social interaction spot and that added a lot to the experience. Some of the cooking utensils and ranges are in need of minor upgrades but otherwise, it was a very functional kitchen. We would happily stay there again.

Very unique property. Beautiful views, quiet setting. Road into property is gravel and rough, but it is being repaired. The only other issue was the shower was not cleaned very well.

Roomy cabin and convenient self-serve cantina. Close to Big Bend and Terlingua. Cloudy skies and high winds kept us from seeing stars and having a fire. Next time!

Great Visit

We visited for one night in The Gun Shop. The room was great and we loved sitting out at might looking at the stars. The entire setup is si cute and well thought out. When we can stay again, we would choose a room in a cabin with only one room. The sound carries just a bit between the two atrached rooms. The hosts have thought of so many things to make the place special and hVe hone above and beyond what was needed or done at other places we've seen in the area.

Unique, comfortable, remote. Had everything needed plus pet friendly. Water was not potable but bottled water was provided. The night sky was awesome. The Gunshop cabin was really cute. Only suggestion is that the ceiling fan should be able to run with the light off but it didn’t.

This place is beautiful. Property is beautiful. The hair didn’t send me the code so thankfully, some other tenants were able to help me get in contact with the host for my code since I had no service. There were some fleas in the shower and on the bed. disappointed for how expensive the rooms were. One unoccupied room had every light on and a massive window with no blinds, so it was frustrating when we tried to e since it ruined the darkness a bit. Besides that, it was a nice stay

Perfect Getaway

My fiancé and I love Big Bend. We could not wait to come back and explore more. These sweet themed little cabins at Ten Bits Ranch are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need for a perfect little getaway. The shared dining space offers many amenities for preparing, cooking, storing your own food and drinks. There are refreshments that you can purchase for a few bucks. Being out here in the desert is so peaceful and this spot offers beautiful views during the day and starry nights. Be prepared while out in Big Bend to be disconnected from your phone service and just enjoy the beauty of West Texas. However while staying on this property, you can connect to a strong wifi connection to catch up on any communication needed at any of the cabins and even the Catina. We truly loved our stay and will definitely be back!

The pictures on the Internet looked great! IT"S NOT, what you see in person. The place we stayed Gun Shop (Room #3) was DIRTY!! The bathroom shower had BLACK MOLD in it. The floors in both the bed area & bathroom were soiled and needed to be cleaned. There was something on the bathroom door that needed to be cleaned off that another group had left. GROSS! We NEVER heard or saw any property manager, My suggestion would be to have a real live person there to greet you, rather then a written manual to read. Do a general housekeeping!!

Out in the desert nestled between two mountains

We were in the gunshot. The casita was within a few steps. The stove pipe mountains were very cool. The sprawling desert valley to the west. Great sunset and very dark sky. Off the grid so there are rules for electricity and water but we were comfortable in the 100 + daylight hours. Cool evenings and morning. We turned off the AC and open door. Nice breeze. We had one blind that worked but need repair. Also the fridge and freezer need to have a system for clearing. There were two guests (we are one) but all three unit had stuff. Leftover stuff. No markings. I suggest guests are encouraged to mark all with room # and if not they get sorted daily. But that’s not a big deal. Had a wonderful two nights. Next time we will ask for the blacksmith.

Property was fine. Would recommend with one caveat. The drive off the highway was a surprise. No mention of the possible issues until we had booked. Also you have a water leak in the ceiling in the bathroom. Noticed water on the floor but thought it was something we spilled. The second night we noticed it dripping off the ceiling. You can see the water marks on the ceiling beam. The last night we were there it had quit leaking. It only leaked when there was a heavy dew which was not present the last night..

Tucked Away and Secluded

When I was planning my trip to Terlingua, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I found so many unique places to stay. After some research, I chose Ten Bits because of its rustic, Western-themed property. As I drove through the town, I passed other places I had considered, and I was 100% satisfied with my choice. en Bits is situated just off the highway, down a private road, which adds to the sense of isolation and tranquility. While you're just a short drive away from the heart of Terlingua, staying at Ten Bits feels like being in your own private oasis. The property is peaceful and quiet, offering an uninterrupted view of the desert landscape. The lack of nearby traffic and town hustle was the ideal setting for a desert getaway. We stayed in the “Gun Shop” room, which had a private bathroom, small fridge, and microwave. The weather was chilly during our visit, but the room’s wall unit kept it cozy. Sis welcomed us and encouraged us to explore the property. We enjoyed a sunset drive around the land, relishing the freedom to roam without worrying about trespassing. Next year, we're planning to return with family, as we now know which rooms are close together. In comparison to other places we considered, most were closer to town, had big windows facing the street, shared bathrooms, or views of the highway. Ten Bits provided exactly what we wanted: isolation with the luxury of a private bathroom and stunning views. It was the perfect desert retreat, and I can’t wait to return.

Western Stay

This was an experience in itself. Absolutely loved this place. Almost magical in a western sense. We stayed in the Gun Shop. Loved it. Cozy. The fireplace just makes the room. Loved that the windows open. The decor was so perfect. The con side would be checking in we did not get our code. This could have been a simple issue of email and connections. A very nice lady staying there helped us with that issue. No real big deal in the whole scheme of things. The other would be the shower water was just barely warm. My husband was almost cold. Very short showers too. No excessive time in there at all. Again this would not stop me from staying here again. The kitchen for everyone was amazing as well and stocked with the basics for a light continental type breakfast. Also with a fireplace. The photos ops just made me happy. They did this place up right and looks like they are adding on to the little western town. Would absolutely recommend staying here. Ps the drive in after rain is a bit slippery and it is quite a ways off the main road. Again this was all part of the experience. You need to go here!!!!!

Ten Bits Ranch is a fantastic place to relax and unwind for a few days. The cabin is outfitted well; comfortable bed, clean shower, plenty of hot water, and a great air conditioner. A common kitchen is provided for guests and is more than I expected...well stocked and outfitted. The scenery in this area is amazing. I don't know what the puma population is, but I was fortunate enough to see one about 40 miles south of the ranch. The ranch is a good location if you want to visit Marfa, Alpine Fort Davis and the Big Bend National Park. The food in the Terlingua/Study Butte eateries is great, and the restaurants are staffed with friendly people providing fast service. I had a cell phone camera but will be bringing a SLR or two when I visit again in late fall or winter. I highly recommend visiting Ten Bits Ranch if you are planning a trip to this area.

Layover on our way to camp at Big Bend

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is very quaint and has the feel of an old cowboy town. Loved it! Everyone we met (other guests) were equally impressed. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a charming stay near Big Bend.
