About this property
Unique and Pet Friendly Glamping Dome with Views of Big Bend National Park, Perfect for a Texas Glamping Getaway
Sleep under the Milky Way in our largest space pod: a hard-shell geodesic dome with two queen beds, perched on a 100-foot volcanic hill in Terlingua, Texas, 11 minutes from Big Bend National Park. This sleeps up to 6, so it's the one to book for two couples, a small family or friends who don't want separate pods.
INSIDE YOUR POD
• 2 memory-foam queen beds with luxury linen and plush towels (sleeps 4 adults + 2 kids)
• Clear panoramic dome windows: stargaze straight from bed, or pull the curtains for privacy
• Two reclining first-class airliner seats facing Big Bend
• 24,000 BTU mini-split AC and heater, comfortable in August and in January
• Hyper-fast Starlink Wi-Fi · USB and 120V outlets
• Kitchenette corner: fridge and freezer with complimentary drinking water, microwave and coffee maker
• Nebula lights and lasers · Bluetooth speaker · humidifier and diffuser
• Boho desert styling (it photographs well)
• Children welcome
OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
• Private porch with hilltop views of Big Bend National Park and the surrounding mountains
• Your own fire pit and grill
• Swing bench and hammocks for sunset
• Hiking trails from your door: meteor rocks, weird desert plants and hidden aliens and Easter eggs
BATHROOMS (PLEASE READ)
There is no bathroom inside the pod. Shared bathhouses are a short 2-minute walk (100–400 feet), with hot showers, indoor bathrooms at the top of the hill and outdoor ones at the bottom. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
LOCATION
On TX-118 in Terlingua: 11 minutes to Big Bend National Park, 5 minutes to Terlingua Ghost Town for restaurants, shops, mines, art, grocery and gas. Use Google Maps (Apple Maps gets lost out here). We're in an International Dark Sky area, so try to arrive before sunset on your first night and bring a flashlight.
WATER
Our well water is non-potable; complimentary drinking water is in your fridge. Water is precious in the desert, so please keep showers to 5 minutes.

Welcome: $95 for up to 2 pets, plus $50 for each extra pet (max 4). Let us know after booking so we can add it. Keep them leashed, on the trails, and never alone in the pod. Unreported pets are charged $250.

We loved Space Cowboys. It was quirky and fun and family friendly. The hammocks were a favorite for my family. We watched the sunset from there each evening. I underestimated the steepness of the climb to Pod 12, but we handled it just fine, especially with the atv service to help with luggage. We loved having Dingus come by to say hello. He was friendly and playful. The location was nice and quiet, and it wasn't far from town when we needed to buy things.
