"While checkin is lovely and the female front desk worker was lovely, it was downhill from there. Long story short- at 530am there was a homeless/drugged up beligerent man BANGING on doors and cursing and yelling. By the time the front desk answered, they said they had already called the police. I huddled in my childrens bed while they whimpered and covered their ears while a crazy person banged on our door. Obviously, we didnt go back to sleep. After that, i couldnt not see everything irritating about the hotel. The walls that were so thin we could hear our neighbors talking. No peep holes or security door. One hot cup and only decaf coffee. The room AC we couldnt get to stay on and wete hot all night. The worst part was we never heard anything from the hotel. No "hey are you guys ok?" No "the police are here and its all clear" not a peep. They still charged us a $20 "amenity" fee. Wow. "

"Conveniently located closed to torre pines preserve/beach and children pool (our primary destination) … room was good quality, and nice, affordable food option in less than a mile. Stay was very good at affordable price point. "

"Arrived at hotel 1:20 to be informed it was overbooked. After drive several hours to get there with kid in the car that to find another place to stay. Not a great experience!"

"The location was great. The staff was beyond amazing! Breakfast was delicious and had everything you could want. We were there for surgery at UCSD medical center and the 9 am surgery got postponed until 5pm and we needed a place to stay for the day before our reservation at 3 pm. I kindly asked the front desk if we could have an early check in at 9am in the morning knowing it was highly unlikely. But within 20 minutes they had a room ready for us! They still believe in customer service. Appreciate all who helped us out. "

"Was supposed to stay at The Welk , a Hyatt vacation club resort in Escondido, it was awful (including the service and room). We left within 20 mins of being there. Drove straight to the Omni in Carlsbad. This hotel and staff were AMAZING! From the registration desk, the food, rooms, pools, grounds, all of it. Impeccable service and incredibly clean. It was a true Oasis. We ended up staying an extra night because we loved our experience. I can’t wait to go back. "
