"A great property with a home feel, great atmosphere. Food was great and we loved spending time on the covered porch talking with family and others staying at the Inn. "

"This was a last minute decision based on displeasure with another accommodation in the area. The front desk was extremely helpful and the breakfast (coffee!!) provided was appreciated."
"There are places one simply stays—and then there are places one is graciously welcomed into, as if into the pages of a quieter, more refined life. The Carnegie House, nestled in the serene embrace of State College, Pennsylvania, is emphatically the latter. It does not clamor for attention; it does not shout luxury. Instead, it murmurs elegance with the confidence of something long-established and deeply loved.
From the moment of arrival, the experience becomes more than mere lodging. The staff, a chorus of grace and professionalism, do not perform hospitality—they embody it. Every gesture feels sincere, every kindness unhurried. One senses quickly that this is not a job for them, but a practiced art.
The architecture whispers old-world charm without pretension, and the grounds are a quiet sonnet to beauty—manicured, but not sterile; curated, but not contrived. It is a place where the windows hold the light just so, and mornings arrive with gentle dignity.
And then—the food. To call it a meal is to undersell the craft. Each plate is composed like a stanza, balancing boldness with restraint, decadence with discipline. The chef is clearly both artist and steward, drawing from the surrounding bounty of Pennsylvania with reverence. Every bite reveals thought, care, and an unapologetic devotion to excellence.
There are stays that leave their imprint quietly, like pressed flowers in the folds of a beloved book. The Carnegie House is one."
Ramada by Wyndham State College Hotel & Conference Center
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is so cute! The staff is very friendly and professional. The hotel super clean, organized with many options of food. Indoor and outdoor pool. Bottles of water are free! The bar and halfway is all decorated with frames of pictures from famous artists, sport players, musicians and their original signatures. Lovely place to stay. "
"Everything about The Graduate (formerly Atherton Hotel) was wonderful. There's a feeling of both sophistication and school spirit permeating the atmosphere. Best of all are the little personal touches, like one bed having a pillow stitched "We Are..." and the pillow on the other bed stitched "...Penn State!" It doesn't feel like the generic hotel chains at all."
"After my stay I had to contact staff regarding an item left behind. They were open, warm and very accommodating. The item was located and shipped expediently. This interaction far exceeded expectations. I am so thankful for their customer service. "
