There is a slightly rougher element at and around the hotel on weekends but that doesn't bother me but it may if you have young kids or not used to big cities. "Decided to take a trip to Baltimore with my kids. Being only a 20 minute walk to the harbor area I was hoping we were in a good spot, but city changes from intersection to intersection. The neighborhood was loud late into the night, with a lot of graffiti and homeless mulling around. The hotel was dirty, broken fixtures, smelled like weed, and the breakfast was disgusting and I threw it out. If I was by myself for a couple of nights, I might deal with it, but my kids were not happy, so we checked out after one night and found a different hotel that made us much more happy and made the weekend more enjoyable. I will not be staying at the LaQuinta again."

"AC was extremely loud and room was DIRECTLY next to a street. Door was not safe, you could push on it and see into room, plus it was downstairs in some basement area. Floors were so slippery I never took socks off. Area advertised as a hot spot, but in a very sketchy part of town with a lot of homeless on streets. Walkable to attractions and harbor though."
