A true oasis of calm in a wooded and shaded setting by the river, heated pool.

"What a lovely property and a lovely host! The property is tucked away just outside of Rochechouart, an old millhouse on a small stream. The property is as described with enough beds for a group of 9 people. The property has two living areas meaning there is enough space for everyone. Amenities wise the pool is excellent, heated enough to take away the chill, but still cool enough for those hot days. The table-tennis, boules and organ round out the non-electronic entertainment. The Plancha style BBQ is amazing, under cover right next to the stream with a large table. We ate evening meals there every night. Beds were comfy, kitchen's well equipped it was a great stay for our group and allowed everyone to chill out and relax!Claire is a great host. She lives on site, but other than saying hi and helping practice French language skills or attending to little needs here and there she doesn't encroach or interfere with your enjoyment. From the property it is a 5 min drive into the centre of Rochechouart where there are a couple of patisseries, a wonderful butcher and an Aldi and and an Intermarche. There is a trail up the hill from the property as well into town that you can walk in 10 mins.Would highly recommend!"

"City centre location with limited parking. Not secure parking. Lots of stairs as hotel built on a hillside. Lovely park nearby. Kettle and mugs. Nice big shower. Comfy beds. Pet friendly.Nice bar and restaurant. Air-conditioning not very effective."

"We are a family of 8 - 4 "kids" 2 parters and mum and dad. What a great venue for a get together. We ate out on the terrace every day inc breakfast. The cooking facilities were great. The wednesday night was our wedding anniversary so we hired a couple of chefs for the evening. La Broulie is very quiet and I'm sure we heard a wolf howl one night. the stars were very bright in the absence of light pollution. what a great family holiday. This place would easily fit 3 large families putting the kids all in the big attic room."
