Best Western Premier Houston Downtown/Convention Center Hotel

"This hotel is being upgraded from previous hotel brand and it’s noticeable. They are trying very hard to upgrade and make it nicer. It was close to both the George R. brown and Toyota center. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything seemed pretty clean and fresh. The window unit was my only concern because I didn’t feel like it properly cooled the entire room, not awful but definitely not great. I would stay here again, despite that."

"Pool had algae grow!!! Air condition in room didn't work both nights!! They sent help first night but second, just told noone available and if it was really bothering us, they would change us room like no big deal even though we have multiple kids and lot of luggage. To end the night lots of criminal activity going on outside the hotel with bunch of cops everywhere literally locking us up in our room. This was definitely the icing on the cake!! Never staying downtown area again it has became to dangerous for our family! Discovery Green park definitely not the same"

"Awful experience. The double queen bed was booked so I paid for a king room for my sister and I. When we arrived we were told it wasn’t available and they I shouldn’t have booked with Expedia. After approx 9 mins of the worker “finding” a room it was a queen bed in an handicap room. My sister and I were squished in a small bed. Extremely rude staff, bathroom was not clean, pictures are not truthful. It’s definitely not the vibe as described, no one goes in there. I wish I wouldn’t have booked here. -100/10."

"The property is beautiful and well kept. However, don’t let the hotel fool you. There are additional charges that they will charge you on top of what you book through the third-party booking company. The office did not tell me that I was going to get charged an additional $58 as a “ resort fee” for just staying at the hotel while I had already paid all of my room fees in advance. Also take a note that they’re going to take a $200 deposit upfront. It was a little confusing at first when I arrived because I was unaware that the Front Desk is located on the second floor. There are no signs and you just have to figure it out. Also, you will need your key card to use the elevators otherwise you won’t be able to go to your room. The parking is a parking garage and it is $20 a day and/or there is a charge every single time you leave the parking garage and return later (I.e., go out to dinner). It may be better to stay at a hotel on the outskirts if you are looking to save money. However, it is a beautiful view from the window at night. I probably won’t stay here again though."

"The view from our room was stunning. This is the cleanest hotel I have been to in Houston area. I am so impressed by the efforts put in to keep this facility so clean. The downside was having to go from 28th floor to the lobby to use the microwave oven. One on each floor could make a whole lot of difference. Above all, we had an excellent time in this hotel."
