Nearby the entrance to Carson Park. 1 mile from Water Street restaurants and bars. 2.5 miles from UWEC lower campus by car. 30 minute walk on the trail along the Chippewa River. 2.5 mile drive to UWEC upper campus. Great spot to walk pets just out the back door of the hotel. Easy access to Hwy 12/Clairemont Ave. Burgers just a 3 minute walk at Valley Burger and Ice Cream across the street at Roadside Diner. Great Marriott breakfast in the morning. 5 stars!"

"My room was on the second floor. Someone must have smoked at some point, as there was a faint odor in the air. When I got to my room I noted that it was quite warm. The air conditioner wouldn't turn on after several attempts. When I reported that issue to the very friendly staff member at the front desk, he promptly reassigned my room to one next door. This was very much appreciated!"

"This is a nicely-located historical property with all of the character and charm of an older, much-loved home that has been updated. It also includes a spacious yard & ample parking. The kitchen is big and modernized (except it has no dishwasher). We were grateful for the hard-working AC window unit as we were there when the heat index was 100. That said, it would be good if there were ceiling fans in both bedrooms or at least an oscillating fan for each room. As it is, we only found one. It would be a good idea to inspect all the lamps to make sure they are safe and functional as we swapped out a living room lamp for the double bed room lamp due to concerns about it's safety. Another suggestion: stocking the amenities--body wash & shampoo would be nice for the shower. Also we had to buy toilet paper for our 4 night stay as there was only the one roll on the dispenser and none to be found elsewhere. It might be time to update the King Bed mattress as it was diveted and lumpy also the pillows on all the beds are very flat. Pillows can be a personal preference but providing a variety is appreciated. For safety, extending the railing to wrap around the upper corner so that someone going down can have something to hang on to seems really important. Because the run (length) of the steps is so short, going down the stairs is a bit fraught."
