If you have never tried geocaching, I highly recommend giving it a go! Essentially, its a treasure hunt ranging anywhere from super easy and kid friendly to ridiculously difficult (ie- the treasure can only be accessed by rappelling or scuba diving). You are looking for a little container that is sometimes hidden in everyday, unassuming objects you wouldn't look at twice- such as this pinecone! Inside is a log with the names of all the treasure hunters who have found it and sometimes tokens that can be tracked. After I tried this first one, I was absolutely hooked. There are even some geocaches where the reward is an amazing view you would have never otherwise seen. Check out www.geocaching.com to see ones near you- I almost guarantee you will be surprised how many people have been treasure hunting in your backyard for things you never even knew were there!
