4. National Aviary
With more than 600 birds representing 200 species, including several rare and nearly extinct breeds, the National Aviary is one of Pittsburgh’s most colorful and unique attractions. Look up through the boughs of tropical rain forest trees and spot the colorful wings of a parrot or lorikeet among the foliage. In the wetlands area you’ll see flamingoes, pelicans and spoonbills feeding. The size of the sea eagles in Eagle Hall is guaranteed to impress. There’s plenty at the aviary to keep the entire family busy for a morning or afternoon.

7. Roberto Clemente Bridge
Pick a date when the Pittsburgh Pirates or the Steelers are playing a home game and join in the festive crowds strolling across the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Closed to vehicles on baseball and football game days, this walkway across the Allegheny River is lined with street performers and buzzing with sports fans. It’s a fun time for the entire family, even if you don’t have tickets for a game. Baseball is played at PNC Park and football at Heinz Field Stadium.
