Visit the site of a spring which was unearthed by a teenage peasant in the 19th century after a visitation from the Virgin Mary. This distinctive landmark is hard to miss; a towering 19th-century church that sits above the Grotto of Massebielle, a world-famous pilgrimage destination. Travel just a short distance out of Lourdes to reach this enchanting complex of caves, sprawling over five levels. The caves invite visitors to explore them in a number of ways. Spacious walkways lead you underground, taking you to a train track and a boat ride that carry you into the heart of the mountain.
