Things to do in Oviedo

Activities, attractions and tours

Bahia de Las Aguilas is a remote beach in the southwestern part of the Dominican Republic, close to the border with Haiti. The place is still very underdeveloped, with no hotels and only two glamping resorts. Both glamping resorts we’re supposed to be eco-conscious, so imagine our disappointment when we saw that single use plastic was everywhere. We took time to talk to the owner and explain that in such a remote place, it’s a lot more convenient in the long run to do away with plastic altogether. Guess what - he listened, and the dinner table was set up with reusable cups and plates. A small win for responsible tourism!
