3. Gyeongbokgung Palace

Seoul is a relatively modern city, but Gyeongbok Palace is one of the exceptions. The palace was originally built in 1395 and, as home to the Joseon Dynasty, was one of the most important places in the country. Today, almost half of it has been restored to its former glory and serves as an example of traditional Korean culture.

4. N Seoul Tower

N Seoul Tower’s first use was as a TV and radio broadcast tower in 1969. It instantly became a landmark thanks to its height and location on the peak of Namsan Mountain. Today, the 777-foot (237 meter) tower offers unparalleled views of Seoul and beyond from its observation deck, as well as restaurants, cinemas and performance spaces.
