The shower was excellent and beds were very comfortable. It was so peaceful and during the sunnier spells, we enjoyed sitting out on the decking listening to the birdsong. "We stayed for my Dad’s surprise 80th birthday celebration. We all had different needs and they were all fulfilled. Comfortable, homely and good value for such a large group."

"Lovely house in a lovely location but we had a few issues. The property details said there was a barbecue which had planned to use. There was no barbecue! Instead we had to use the ovens in the kitchen. Both ovens were very dirty one of them filled the kitchen with acrid smoke as soon as we turned it on . It was such a shame because the standards of cleanliness elsewhere in the property were very high. With a barbecue and a clean oven this would have been a pretty much perfect house."

All good except !

"Nice room very clean staff pleasant but bar area in need of a bit of love snd attention. Breakfast very good but placement of things s bit odd. Why is the butter with the fresh fruit section and not by the toaster and bread and jams !? Also tea making area very congested and when busy you have to wait a very long time to access the hot water/ coffee machine. "

The pavlova alone is worth the trip

"Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. "
