"Overall the view was stunning.And made a small reunion between us siblings nieces & nefews happen with success...Only downfall was photos of property exposed usage of a jet ski and turned out there wasn't one for our unit.Still was able to make the best of our trip with laughter and paddle boarding/ kayaking!"

"Excellent place for family gatherings. Beds are comfortable, Immediate supplies are in place which helps with the packing.Several gathering areas make it easy for small groups and conversation.Bring your own charcoal grill, if you prefer the taste over gas grill.The views and lake are so relaxing. Plenty to do inside and out.Our family loves paddle boarding and fishing, along with kneeboarding. For the kids, close to the Marina, but in a cove off the main stream, which makes it nice and quiet.Our favorite place and hosts on Smithlake."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Grand Lodge is perfect for large gatherings and is well provisioned. Only think missing is a crockpot! The location is close to a lot more than I would have thought - the Foodland next to the DGMarket (15 minutes) is very good as is Son's down in Jasper, 30 minutes. There is also a butcher before you get to Son's. The kitchen is awesome and the bedroom set is very good and a rarity of the lake, a screened in porch! The water is clear and comfy, but be aware that Friday afternoon thru Sunday traffic in the summer is very busy around the point the house is on. Gets a bit choppy, but our older 6 year old grandchild and her siblings and cousins had no issues. The view more than makes up for this! The house does need some cosmetic love as other reviewers have noted, but the place was clean when we arrived and we left it that way too. Garbage is limited to one can at this time, very odd for a large house like this but SLP told us other cans are on the way. Dumpsters are in the area, like at the Texaco and Ace Hardware. Just go in and ask. Duncan Marian and the smith lake pontoon rentals were awesome too. Best swimming hole on the lake is the next slue north on the east side marked by a dock with orange/red canopy. Go to the back of that slue and you will be in a pool surrounded by rock cliffs."

"Wow! What an amazing home! (Sorry long post...) Our family enjoyed our time together on the water using the kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets provided. This house is truly exceptional. The master suite shower is handicap accessible. This was a major reason we decided on this home. The walk down to the dock was easy for my husband to navigate. The dock was large enough to accommodate our group. We absolutely loved it!The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook meals for your family. It had every appliance we needed and was stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, and even had a stocked spice rack available. The house had a stocked coffee bar that was a big hit with our family. The butlers pantry had a toaster and other small appliances available for us to use.Every bedroom had ample charging capability with USB power strips. The master bedroom even had a device charging station in case you need to collect children's devices for charging at night. The property owners have truly thought of everything!The house information book provided on the counter contained recommendations for stores and restaurants close by. We enjoyed eating at the marina and the Mexican restaurant while we were there. They both were within a 15 minute drive. Some of us went hiking on one of the Bankhead trails one day. Our last night, we gathered around the big table to play some of our favorite games we had brought. We noticed that some were also available at the house."
