We took the Bernina Express, weaving down the Swiss Alps and into Northern Italy. We only had a few short hours in Tirano but it was worth it. Tirano certainly had its "touristy" area, but venture beyond that and you'll find a very quiet, rustic simplicity. Wander through small coves and alley ways to discover old frescos, small churches, and picture perfect courtyards.

Great apartment. Furnished with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Kitchen / living space is a bit small for 8 people, but we made it work for our group. Hosts are very friendly.

Lovely mountain town, nestled among big mountains with great views all around. We stopped over for one night, having taken the Bernina Express from Chur. We could have stayed for longer, to enjoy the town and property more.
